I recently bought a 4-drawer chest from Target - the kind that you can assemble yourself with simple tools. The problem is that the chest sways from side to side (like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, only this is both ways!!). Can somebody advise on how I can correct this? I assembled it exactly according to the instruction booklet.

tighten up the side bolts or screws.. they have to be loose. if that doesnt help... it might just be cheap. but try that first. also look at any support pieces ... they may need to be tightened.

It should have come with a piece of paneling for the back. Hopefully, the sides and and top had a grove so the back would be recessed a bit. If it it didn't, get a 1/4" piece of plywood and nail it to the back. Also tighten up any screws or bolts.

Cut a piece of 1/4" plywood the exact size of the back of the chest. Secure the plywood to the back of the unit with nails or screws. Be careful not to split the particle board of the sides or top/bottom. Predrill holes if you are concerned.

It really depends on the baby. My friend had a girl first and she loved her swing. She waited a few years, got rid of all her baby stuff and then got pregnant again. Since her daughter loved her swing she thought her son needed one too. She bought one for him and he hates it with a passion! She tried several times and he wanted nothing to do with it. She then gave it to me when I had a baby and my daughter loves her's tooand always has. It's a must for her nap times. You may want to borrow one if you know someone that has one or buy a used one. If you have a baby that loves and swing and can't live without it, I suggest getting one that plugs into the walls instead of just running off batteries. My daughter used her's so much that I would have gone through 4 D batteries a week, but it plugs in so I've never had to replace batteries. :)

Try gettin a piece of 1/4" plywood and cut to size for the back of the dresser and nail it to the back. This will keep in from "leaning".

If everything that came with it is as tight as it can be, try nailing some small wood pieces to the corners. The wood would have to be nailed to both the bottom and the side on both bottom corners and both the top and the side on the top corners. That should stabilize it.
