Absolutely.

For example, suppose you lost $100 -- but you are able to take $5000 out of working capital -- you will have a positive cash flow.

Conversely -- suppose you make a huge sale on the last day of the year that gives you a huge profit for the year -- but you don't get paid for three months. You could have a negative cash flow -- but that sale gets booked for the current year.

You can also have positive or negative cash flows because of funding. You make no money -- but you get a huge cash flow because youwent IPO -- or you make a little profit, but repurchase a debt issue.
