After the series, she was featured as a guest star on various television shows and toured the country performing in numerous plays.

Later on, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to continue her work in the theatre. She was the co-founder and artistic director of Sante Fe’s Resource Theatre Company and recently starred in “Wit” at the Arizona Theater Company. She was married twice, first to Leon Russom, then to J. Alan Radford in 1982. She now lives in Pacific Palisades, California, with her adopted daughter, Lily.

As the popular series came to an end in 1980, 20 year old Anderson continued to enhance her resume, picking up bit parts in in shows like "The Equalizer, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," and "Murder, She Wrote." She also auditioned for and won many title roles in television feature films, such as "The Loneliest Runner," and "Advice to the Lovelorn."

Today, Melissa Sue Anderson acts whenever she can. In 1998, she played a title role of Dr. Marilyn Blake in the television movie "Earthquake in New York," and she continues to audition and act on a regular basis. Anderson still lives in California and remains in close contact with several former cast members from "Little House on the Prairie."

In 2006 Melissa performed in 10.5: Apocalypse as First Lady Megan Hollister. Also in 2005, Melissa did a interview with VH-1 for the 100 Greatest Teen Stars of All time.

On the TV show Mary left to go to NYC with her hubby who got his sight back and became a lawyer. He needed to find better work.

In real life Mary was blind went to school for blind then lived with her parents, then with Carrie Ingalls. Never married

Mary Ingalls At the age of fourteen, Mary suffered an illness (depicted as scarlet fever in the Little House books, but as a stroke in her sister's unpublished memoirs) which resulted in lifelong blindness. Between 1881 and 1889, she attended the Iowa College for the Blind at Vinton, Iowa. Then she returned home to De Smet, South Dakota and lived with her parents until their deaths. Later, she lived with her sister Grace and then Carrie. She never married. She died on October 20, 1928 at the age of 63, as a result of pneumonia and complications from a stroke. She was buried at De Smet Cemetery

I've seen Karen Grassel in a few commercals and Mary Ingalls was in a After school special........I have not seen them since.....Melissa Gilbert plays in a lot of Life time movies.

the actress who played Mary ingalls was Melissa sue Anderson. she is married to a movie producer. she did a lot of TV guest appearances when she was younger. i also saw her in a movie produced by her husband called "Earthquake in New york"

I don't know, but Little House was my favorite show when I was a girl. I wish we had some shows on the air now with the same values, something we could watch with our kids that did not include sex, nudity, violence, and obsene language.
