Do they seem to be strategically avoiding the only issue they haven't directly touched on--racism?

Cuz all the black main characters are wealthy, cool, and smart, but a lot of the white people are tramps and delinquents, as if the show were fleeing from getting complaints on the issue. Not saying its bad, but does their world seem somewhat unrealistic? In more ways than this?

I don't say every white person is a tramp, but only white people seem to deal with more urban issues. Take that black haired girl, for instance.

i watch that show degrassi and yes i did relize they never showed any issues on races..They always seemed to be ok with everybody. But if they touched the issue on race with black people, dont you think their would have been a lot of problems with the show and such

i totally agree like 100% because i watch that show all the time it's crappy you know when martin Luther king Jr. said that he had a dream and broke he political thing or whatever he only made it worse now black people get all of the attention( no offense to black people, i am not a racist) and all of the money and everything well not so much all black people but you know what i am talking about right

I watched the original degrassi when I was growing up. They did racism episodes so I am surprised they are avoiding it now.

I watched it back in the 80's and it sounds like it hasn't changed much. :P It's all a bit melodramatic, but I guess that was what was fun about it. I suppose the writers think they have to hit teenagers over the head to get their moral points across, and, well, maybe they're right.

Yea but then there is Liberty and her drama so I guess I agree that hey! They touched on everything but racism and I think that is important also! Good Question!

Of course its unrealistic! Its really just a bunch of drama but i guess thats just what keeps everyone so entertained, i dont know why they havent ever had one on racism.
