Your bank's routing number and your account number are on every check you write. I wouldn't worry about it.

There are always lax moments when knowing enough about you and being enough like you is all that someone will need to lighten your finances for you. Especially in busy banks, when time is short and lines are long, questions and safety get short as well.

Talk to your banker, they may roll things over to a new account for you--then take better precautions with your information.

BTW: anyone who has received a check from you has your bank account number. I trust what you mean is someone you know but don't necessarily trust has the number and could try to do things you don't intend to authorize. Again, simply using the account makes the number available to someone, the one you are doing business with.

i would think that so long as they have the account number and of course and proper ID, but it getting your identity stolen and money is bad so id report him or her to the bank but then again if they are a friend then if they are trust worthy then its fine. otherwise call the bank and let them know.
