I've done it for a few months in a row now, and I've started to spot sort of heavily. That's been going on for almost two weeks. Could it be caused by the skipping?

Technically, birth control was designed to never have a "inactive" week. It was supposed to never have a period week, and it was put into the works because it would give women "ease of mind"
It is not detrimental to constantly skip your period week when on Hormonal birth control. You never actually build up a vaginal lining anyway, because you never ovulate, so there is no health hazard in doing so.
If you are wanting to skip periods altogether, and you are on a regular 28 day packet birth control, maybe you should switch to Seasonel. It allows for only 4 periods a year. I believe it has a little bit stronger hormones, but other than that, it is the same as any other Birth Control. It too, though, does have a symptom of spot bleeding. It just happens.

But... if leau of your problem, you should go see a Doctor.. immediatly.... no one should bleed that much, you might have an infection, or some other health problem entirely unrelated to you Birth Control.

I've had my doctor tell me that it's okay to skip periods. But after a while your body will take over and you'll have the spotting..Is there any pain involved? I would see the dr and make sure that all is well...
