In Arabic it means girl. If you speak English as many words come from Aramic also it would be the same thing. It does NOT mean anything bad, stupid or ugly, just girl and that is all it means.

In English it's slang for a girl or woman, and it's rather rude; but in some other languages it just means girl, woman or daughter without being nasty, and I've even seen it as part of a woman's name (something like "Nadia bint Saleh" - this is a made-up name), I guess in this case it means "daughter of".
