Or even more interesting, does any Muslim want to kill me for thinking that?.... not that you'd be honest and admit it here... because you're allowed to lie to unbelievers, for one thing. That's good to know, btw.
Muslims are horrible to ask questions to! They start getting physically intimidating, I've seen it more than once. If they can't answer, they will try to shut you up by scaring you or yelling louder than you.

By the way, I'm not as ignorant as you'd like to think. If you have never read the Qur'an, only listened to the media, then I am less ignorant than you. Just keep that in mind, k?

I asked this question late last night, and then only one person agreed with me, one thought I might be right, and everyone else disagreed.... I think since it was in the middle of the night, most of the answerers were from the other side of the world... that is interesting!

Ok, most of you are some of the most ignorant people on the planet... no offense. But it's true. You might check out "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)" by Robert Spencer. And if you disagree with him, check out all of his sources. If all you've done is listen to the media and not looked it up for yourself.... you might consider thinking on your own based on evidence.

Dear Kathy R,
This narrow-minded little girl never claimed that Muslims were evil. I claimed that Islam is evil. Muslims are the people. Islam is the set of original ideas of Muhammed, contained in the Qur'an and the Ahadith. Ideas of consequences, and if the consequences of truly following the IDEAS are evil... it's an evil idea. This is why I say Islam is evil.
I will be the first to claim that most Muslims are probably better than any American Christian (including myself) that I have ever met.
Hmm... I may be a narrow-minded little girl, but you are unable to see the difference between the people and the ideas.... atleast I'm a smart narrow-minded little girl.... and those nice Muslims are nicer than you, by far, as you call names and act patronizing. :)

em87, you might try actually reading the Holy books of these three religions, and pay attention to context. For example, in the Old Testament, God said to kill certain people (who were sacrificing there children, being mean to foreigner's, etc.) after they were gone, no one was suposed to keep killing. Not the case with Islam. Two books for you (if you are open-minded and willing to double check sources); "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam" and "Christianity on Trial" by Shifflett. I dare you to read them. :)

kissmyspectrum,
One, I hate above all other snack foods that horrid creation named "Cheetos". I am also really skinny. ;)
Second, I have recently done research on both the records of Christians and Muslims. You might try it sometime; Islam is MUCH bloodier, even WITH the crusades (incidentally, started by Muslims.... heck, Christians let them warmonger for a few centuries before finally deciding to Crusade to help the people being trampled by the Muslims and their Jizya/death/convert philosophy.... you might research that last part if you don't know what I meant. So, sorry, but Islam has killed many more people than Christianity. Not that they teach us that in schools these days. But luckily the Muslims haven't burned our books yet.... it's all still there in the records.

"Notice the switch from the religion to the demographic group. Muslims, as individuals, range from lapsed to devout, from "in name only" to fully practicing Jihadists. As in all religions, some individuals retain the label even if they don't practice the religion."
THANK YOU Karen S.
FOLKS, I HAVE NEVER SAID ALL MUSLIMS ARE EVIL. I SAID ISLAM. ISLAM IS THE IDEAS AND CONCEPTS. NOT THE PEOPLE. I'M NOT GOING TO BE PREJUDICED AGAINST THE PEOPLE. BUT THE IDEAS IN THE QUR'AN AND AHADITH (if you would just read them and learn about how they are translated) ARE I BELIEVER EVIL. I'm sure there are plenty of nice Muslims.... although quite a majority of them would only be nice to other muslims if they had more power.....

"Hezbollah fight the Israelis to get back their Lebanese land they r considered terrorists although they target army place and on the other hand the Israelis target civilians to force them to stop."
Hezbollah are cowards who hide in civilian places and use civilians as a shield. Isreal leafletted the area to warn citizens, so they could get away. We don't hear about that though, do we? Nope. Hezbollah just kills civilians. By the way.... Muslim's land?? They think SPAIN is their land, because Muslims believe once a land has been ruled by Muslims, it belongs to muslims forever. So if Spain has been free of them for hundreds of years, Muslims who fight to take over Spain will STILL claim they are fighting defensively, because Spain "is theirs".... idiotic, really.
Anyway, I don't watch CNN or the news. I'm reading the Qur'an. That's where I get my views... no better place, eh?

Yes I agree! Given the recent worldwide attacks by Islamic terrorists, why isn't the question "Is Islam evil?" With few exceptions ( Turkey , for example), Islamic countries are fascist, autocratic or theocratic, where women are subjugated and minorities persecuted. Islamic countries are rife with poverty and have been for centuries. Polls show that in many Islamic countries a majority of Muslims lionize the man responsible for the atrocities of September 11th and the terrorist gangs who routinely slaughter civilians in Israeli buses and restaurants. In Arab schools and on Arab television, children are taught the glory of becoming suicide bombers. Almost everywhere that Islam borders other cultures, there is violence.
But merely, raising the question, "Is Islam evil?" provokes an instant, inevitable outcry: "Bigot!" "Racist!" "Zionist!" Indeed, the attempt to suppress debate on this question is so intense that few people in the mainstream will ask it.
The level of banality goes beyond the empty name-calling. Typical knee-jerk questions are: "How can you call all Muslims evil?" "Have you ever met a Muslim?" "Don't you think Muslims have children, too?" Notice the switch from the religion to the demographic group. Muslims, as individuals, range from lapsed to devout, from "in name only" to fully practicing Jihadists. As in all religions, some individuals retain the label even if they don't practice the religion. Indeed, knowledge of the religion varies from person to person. It is not at all unusual to find members of a religion who don't understand the doctrines, practice, or history of their religion. As a broad label, "Muslim" is nothing more than a meaningless demographic term. To judge a religion, one considers those who understand and practice the religion. Would we judge Catholicism by someone who, following the tradition of their parents, calls themselves Catholic but has no knowledge of the teachings of the Church, the Pope, the Saints, and the Bible?
Why is Islam exempt from critical analysis? In Western society, there is no shortage of critics of Christianity. Indeed, on many college campuses it is open season on anything that has the faint odor of Western Civilization -- Christianity included -- even though Christianity, like Islam, originated in the Middle East . One might wonder why Islam, which sees itself as a continuation or fulfillment of Judeo-Christianity, is not subject to the same intense criticism. Instead, multi-culturalism treats Islam as a protected species -- an indigenous ethos inseparable from a people. Consequently, self-appointed Politically Correct thought-police stifle debate on Islam by shamelessly playing the race card -- even though Islam is not a race.

Don’t be superficial!!!! U know nothing about Islam and about Muslim to judge whether they r good or bad. Don’t built an opinion based on what others think. And don't watch too much too much CNN and BBC because they cause brain damage.
u never thought that other people they r the ones who r doing their best to spoil the Muslims' image( media propaganda). U never wondered why they call Muslims terrorists? Any Muslim and specially Arab if he is defending his rights the others consider him a terrorists. When the Palestinians fight the Israelis (suicide bombers) they r considered terrorists (not the Israelis they took their lands). When Hezbollah fight the Israelis to get back their Lebanese land they r considered terrorists although they target army place and on the other hand the Israelis target civilians to force them to stop. When the Americans and British jumped into Iraq to take control over the oil and saying is to restore peace in Iraq, they r not terrorists, when foreign soldiers go into a country and steal whatever they find and rape women they r not terrorists? (Do u honestly believe that Americans care about Iraqis or anyone else?) Islam means submission to God. Muslims are harmless but this doesn’t mean they should give up their rights and belongings. If someone comes and take ur house will u just watch him taking ur stuff and ur place or u will react? The islam is a religion that calls for peace (muslims greating is “Asslam Aleikom”which means “peace upon u” )
u shouldn’t think that Islam and Muslims are bad, but u should think how media can brain wash and make wonders.

I believe Judaism, Christianity, and the Islam all preach the same message. The all preach death to infidels. Not just islam. Yes islam is a bit more blatant, but the other two are just the same. Ofcourse Christians wil flip out by my answer, but on numerous occasions, all three of these religions preach violence. So quite honestly, only fundamentalists are true to their religion. Even if it means killing. Moderates to me are fakes. They believe only what is befitting to them, and throw out the rest, or they have no idea what their canonized texts actually say. So yes Islam is evil, but so are Judaism and Christianity. And quite honestly if people dont realize it, it could be the demise of mankind, especially in a nuclear age.
By the way, if you think the wars fought over jerusalem are for any other reason than the ignorance of religion, you are sorely mistaken. The "Holy Land" needs to either be an international city, or nobodies city. Religion is violence, atleast if your not a fake, i mean moderate.

No, I don't think Islam is evil, I do however think you're a retarded and ignorant. Muslims are just as evil as Christians and vice versa, all religion is false. If you had half a brain, you would realize Christians kill more peope than any other religious group, look at the present wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and do I need to remind you of the Spanish inquisition? To sit your fat *** on a computer chair and point your finger at "muslims" is about the dumbest thing you can do, but its not out of the ordinary as you are pretty dumb yourself. Have fun eating your cheetos and twinkies fat girl, I have to get back to work :)

I am a Christian. That means that I believe that Christ, the son of God suffered and died for my sin and the sins of EVERYONE. This includes Muslim and even narrow minded little girls like you who thrive on hate. If you did any research you would know that most Muslims are very kind and gentle people. That is the nature of their beliefs. Radical Muslims are the minority among the religion.
If people would take the way you feel and say--abortion clinic bombers, The KU Klux Klan and any other hate group that believes that they act in the name of God, as an example of all Christians, they would believe that we, as Christians are evil.
Please grow up and stop classifying an entire group of people as having the same characteristics as a few radical lunatics of you will be no better than those people you have so much distaste for.

No, I don't agree with you. Just like any other religion they have a lunatic fringe. Most are peace loving people. I've worked for corporations that had Muslim adherents and had no problems getting along with them. Nor do I have a problem talking with them about my religious beliefs or talking with them about theirs. I don't think any religion is bad in and of itself. The problems start when the fanatics distort it. And that has unfortunately happened with every religion at some time in history. Islam is an Abrahamic religion, and consequently has beliefs and rituals that bear strong similarities to Christianity and Judaism. I don't see anything evil in it at all.

Political Islamists are evil, and there is no question about that as
the same way political Christians, Zionist Jews and whole lot of other religious fanatics are evil.
If you have only read the Jewish scripture you'd find striking similarites between it and Quran. Eye for an eye. Kill all the non-believers , that kind of stuff.
But i tend to agree that it is hard to have a decent argument with some (not all) muslims. they have this ethnocentric tendency to think what they is right and other are all wrong.
those muslims should keep in mind that there are other things in the world other than allah and what their imam taught them.

No, I don't think Islam is evil. You are making a general comment based on the actions of a subgroup. I could make a derogatory comment about any major religious group based on the fundamentalist sect that makes them look bad.
I really think it is fundamentalism that is the problem - not just in Islam but anywhere. This is a group of people that try to change the world to fit into what they believe because they just can't get over themselves and their religiousness to accept the differences of others and take any opposition as an insult to God (or Allah or Jehovah, etc)

Ok tootsie. For starters, Islam was started as a catalyst for ending the warring between the Arabic tribes of the Middle Eastern region in Mohammed's time. The religion preaches submission to God, charity toward the less fortunate, and a strict moral code. ANY religion that is taken to the extreme and twisted is dangerous; Christian cults are equally as dangerous as Hamas and other Islamic groups, but you never hear about them, now do you? Prejudice is WRONG, honey.

Muslims are no worse than the Watchtower people who keep knocking on my door, trying to convert me....
Islam is overprotective of its women, but other than that, it's just another belief system. Every religion includes a few fanatics - cf. Christian fundamentalists who demand that "creation science" (an oxymoron in itself) be taught in public schools. Compare Islam to the religion that brought you the Crusades, the Inquisition and the burning of witches...wow. Tough call.

No, your kind of being evil...
Are all muslims evil? No, are a few out of their minds?... Definitely...
Are all christians evil? No, are a few stone-cold crazy... YEAH!!!
Christians are 87% of this country, guess what that means they're probably 87% of murderers, rapists... You get the picture, look I'm not bashing christianity, but to question an entire religon because of a few crazies that's not fair... What if I based every view I have of Christianity on Pat Robertson, and not my christian friends, or if i based my views on Judaism purely on the fact that the guy at Ben's deli didn't give me enough mustard, get the picture?
