Serve others and you will be served. There is no need to be "used" or to "use". Being a good person is not equal to being a dormat.

You shouldn't try to use people. Then people will try to use YOU MORE!!
Its a vicious circle.
Instead try to be aware of the way people use you and stand up for yourself. Don't let yourself get walked over. That doesn't mean your have to be rude or forceful, just stern. Rembmer, your just as important as the next guy.
Once you get to that point, then you will be able to form symbiotic relationships with people. You both helping each other, and no one is getting used.
The word "used" is all about your outtake. Don't voluntarily help someone, and then feel like your being used.
Remember, whatever energy (positive or negative) you put into the world is whatever you get back.

You can stop being used pretty easily. Sit down and think out some boundaries that you will not have violated and learn to say NO. If, on the other hand, you really think using and manipulating others is the way to behave, then you have to sit down and reconcile yourself to being a son of a ***** of the first order, and find a way to suppress your conscience. Good luck.

I really wish I knew....... The only way I can think of is to not say yes to everything that is asked of you. If you're constantly saying yes, then that person will continue to use you. I've learned that you just have to say no sometimes. Hopefully that person will then realize what they've been doing and start to tend to your needs. The killing part about it is that when you do say no, you're accused of not loving that person or being there for them like they want you to be.

Stop saying yes to everyone, say yes when you want to say yes and no when you want to say no. Stop feelng like a slave to everyone and learn to be a little selfish once and awhile.
It's good to give more than you receive, just make sure what you are giving is what you want to be giving.
Dr Phil is right about one thing, you teach people how to treat you.

If you've been used by others, and know what it feels like to be used, why would you want to go and do that to someone else?

Don't allow yourself to be used & don't try to use oters. Try to build good relationships, friends & lovers where you want to help each other without expecting to get anything back.
