You said it, doll, not moi(regarding the "stupid question")! Let me ask you this...if you knew that this "person" dictates and preaches hate and fear and uses the Bible to justify it, why give them the time of day?
To all of you haters who use that tired assed line of "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" really need to cut it out. It's played out just like your train of though. Those of you can get mad with me if you want, but if your house ain't in order, who in the hell can you dictate to someone what is and isn't sin? Quit speaking for God and worry about your own salvation.
I wouldn't change myself for nothing because rather you like it or not, we're ALL His children. Either deal with it, or just go on about being miserable and quoting stuff that you THINK you know and understand.

I did. And I didn't do it because somebody told me, but because I had a hard time in the past, got schizophrenic at the age of 20.
I was down, really down if you know what I mean. I made an almost successful, serious attempt of suicide 5 years ago because I couldn't stand the situation anymore.
Then somehow I bought myself the bible, the qur'an, the baghavad ghita...and I found that all of those religions are against homosexuality. Of course that wasn't the only thing I found in there.
Now, my point is, that people sometimes only change if they're down. as long as everything goes, they don't see the need for change. Like my friend, he had to have aids and face his death to come to god.
What else is there to say. I feel better since I left lesbianism. I'm more down to earth. God is powerful. God wants to save everyone. By saving I mean saving. The prophecy tells us that there comes a time when we will need to be saved, like be in the s.hit. When I tell people not to be gay, it isn't because of hate towards them, it is because I have been warned. Would a real brother/sister let her brother/sister go into a bad situation? I don't think so. Same for mothers and fathers...
Go with god and you will be fine, that's all. And you know this does not only apply for this lifetime, it applies for the afterlife as well. What body do you want to have in the afterlife? What housing? See, you will probably care about that only when you're old and dying, or become aware of your dependance from a higher power otherwise. Where will you look for god if you need him?
PS: I dont think that's a dumb question at all.
PPS: words......I realize how difficult it is to express myself in a way that really says what I want to say. I guess that's also a difficulty. Did you really get my message. I did my best.

I dont think it's a stupid question at all. Especially if it is curiousity. I really thought growing up that it would be something I could change by praying enough or something... as I grew older I realized I couldn't and came to grips that it was not a sin. I personally found it another obstacle not only for me to learn to deal with in being different, but an obstacle for others to accept me. A test for all.

Kid you have a lot ot learn about humans and about Gods will.
That being said: being homosexual is like being heterosexual you are born that way. being bisexual is the same thing. The only difference is that bisexuals can choose to live a straight life and deny half their natures. It still doesn't change the fact that they desire both sexes it just means they choose to deny their selves what God has intended. Any one that protest that God did not make us this way is either misinformed by their religious leaders and need to be pitied for being so blindly led or they are trying to deny their own natures by attacking what they are. They are also deserving pity for their sad existence. Self hate is a terrible thing and most homosexuals have experienced this as part of the growth process. With acceptance of their true natures homosexuals are able to be happy. Even though we all profess to hate labels when we find one that fits us we are happy because it gives us a way to accept what we are. I am g0y and happy to have the label to cling to it makes my acceptance of my being bisexual easier to bare. Some embrace the concept of being gay and find acceptance there. Some homosexuals deny their natures and give them selves over to unnatural uses and find only self loathing and recriminations. Some try to find acceptance in denial by coming out as ex-gay but it still doesn't change what God made them.

First off, it's not a sin. The bible is a story book.
Secondly, if you asked me that a few years ago, i would have said yes, but I have decided that i do not give a f*ck what society tells me. I am happy and i'm a good person.

no way, Jose! That would be a giant step backward in life...why in the world would anyone want to do that? I know that being gay is NOT a sin...where did you come up with that one? Oh, I see, the bible, right? The book that was written by old, broken down men who were, for the most part, out of their minds, imaginging that hearing voices equated to god speaking to them...well, good luck in your life. You will need it if you get away from your small back yard.

No, because I can't change who I am, the Bible's full of fictional crap, and according to it, everything's a sin. That and since I'm an Atheist, I don't believe sin exists anyway.

don't listen to those Bible thumpers! they USE the Bible to justify their ignorance and hatred! yes, it IS a dumbe question. since it's NOT a sin, why should I change? my friends, family and my partner love me for who I am? why mess with that?
the "thumpers" have yet again demonstrated their closed-minded bigotry here on this page, and many others. but do they REALLY know what the Bible really says...and doesn't say about homosexuality? I bet they don't....and I bet they won't bother to check out this link, either....
come on...I DARE you!

Supposedly, and accourding to most "Christians" the homosexual act is a sin.
But honestly, I tried "Changing" it only caused me more harm, pain, emotional suffering than it was worth.
Amazingly, once I came out and stopped living a lie, I found true love, have the support and love of my family, the support of a great network of friends and a wonderful child who's happy, healthy and loving.
So, no, if given the choice, I would never go back to living as I was.

I'm 41 years old and all my life I've tried to change myself, I've tried to change myself for my parents for my family and for my friends and I've known people who killed them self trying to change themselves. So I guess if I could of changed myself I would of but looks like it's not going to happen.
Update: To anyone who qoutes the childhood saying Adam and Steve thing I say that the God I believe in didn't make a mistake when people were made, maybe we all was put on this earth to see who are the people who hate so bad? Maybe God wanted to see who would try to twist the word of God around?
