If it were not all the sides would not meet and it wouldn't be a complete triangle. It wouldn't be a shape at all.

Think of it in relation to other geometric shapes as well.

A circle = 360 degrees
A square=360 degrees

If you cut a square in half, you get two triangles= 180 degrees each

That and there is both order and disorder in the unvierse and geometry is one way of ordering it.

because the only way three lines can meet like they do is if their angles add up to 180 degrees.
