Man, everytime she comes out of her session (she's a doctor) she comes right up to my desk to snoop around (as I'm sitting there). She will look over my shoulder to see what I'm doing, read my messages, ask me too many questions, and basically just annoy the sh*t out of me. How do I get her to step back?

Oh, yeah baby...I've worked for doctors and they love to do stuff like that. They don't think anyone else could possibly handle anything without them and always want to be in control even if they did hire you to do the job. I like what the person said above about just bombarding her with information. Have a long mental list and deliver it clearly and succinctly...if you have to, take out your hand written list and let her have it with that, too. Document everything if you can down to the smallest detail. Keep as little on your desk as possible. That will freak her out, too.

I would simply ask her for some privacy. let her know you need your circle to yourself or that you can not work properly. or if she is a bit*H and might fire you, then just answer every question with a question...interrupt your self with a phone call to another nurses station or what have you, place your hand up and gesture one moment and see if she has the patience to wait...she probably will not wait, write a fake note about her and act like it was left on your desk by another co worker, on the note mention your concern about her as if you were being asked for advise. send yourself an email from a fake email address pretend you are an ex employee who is warning you to watch out for this push over doctor. she might read the emails and notes and maybe get the hint. Otherwise, just tell her the truth. she might respect you seeing as how she seems a little forward oh, if you agree with her to much you could make things worse, if she asks for advise of any kind, tell her the oppestite of what she wants to here. she might go bug somone else who is willing to kiss her *** and leave you alone. Good LUck!!

You are there to do the job of Secretary. Evidently you are doing a good job or you would not still be there. As to her questions/snooping and looking over your shoulders,it's because she is trying to keep a schedule for the patients, straightened out and running smoothly.

Perhaps your employer needs something? Ask her if there is something she needs from you at that time. Have you given her reason to snoop? are you working on personal things during business hours? after all, she is paying you to be there.

Ask her for advice.

Tell her that lately you have been waking up every morning "In a killin' mood" and ask if she knows what could be causing it.

if she hates something...for example: "jellyfish"...place pictures of the "jellyfish" all over your workspace as if you are completely obsessed with something that she completely despises...if that fails, i hear that a swift jab to the throat works wonders
