They are everywhere including my bed, my storage areas, and cabinets where canned food is. I put all sweets or open containers in storage bags or in glass containers with sealable lids.

Ant bait they take it back to their nest. Everytime you kill an ant and it does not return to the nest. The nest sends out more ants. I have used boric acid for roaches and it worked. Sprinkle it around borders of closets and under sinks. Good luck

Ants leave a scent for others to follow. The way to stop them from coming in is remove or mask the scent they leave so others can not follow. I have had good luck using cloves. I went to the Dollar Store and bought several bottles of ground cloves and sprinkled it around where I saw the ants, there were gone within a couple of days.

The cloves left a nice scent around the house as well.

you can buy a little plastic thing that you put down (looks like one of those air fresheners you stick on). There is some stuff in it that the ants take back to their nest that kills them all - meanwhile the dogs are safe because they cant get to it.

Put grits down. It works the same as most ant killers, expands when they eat it, but won't hurt your dogs.

Just use the Terro stuff but place it in areas where your dog can't fit into.
