I believe that they should have been executed. Darrow put on a great show that got them off the hook. That kind of oratory would not likely work today. That trial likely changed the death penalty future for many.

Anyone who is guilty of murder should be executed. No other punishment is fair. Execution isn't even a fair punishment, but it's the best we can do.
