i am five weeks late, did a test few weks back was negative, but have the the symptions of bein pregnant, can the test be wrong?

The test could be wrong, but most likely the test was taken before the pregnancy was able to be detected. Take another one or see your Gyne.

Duff pregnancy tests are rare, but the method is a little flawed so errors do occur.

Pregnancy tests pick up urine traces of a chemical called Beta Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, made by a developing fetus. Problem is, until you're about 3-4 weeks pregnant it can have trouble detecting the amounts there.

In my work as a doctor, I've met many people who are only a couple of weeks late, do a negative test, and come back to me a few weeks later with a positive test.

So if you're still not happy, do another one, and another one a couple of weeks after that if you're still not sure.

Blood tests are genuinely no more accurate than urine tests at picking up pregnancies, so just keep doing urine tests. (Particularly if you have to pay for healthcare- I don't know what country you're in- urine tests come a lot cheaper!)

So in a nutshell, yes, it can be wrong. Get another one.

You really need to do another test now - the last one could have been too early.

Five weeks is extremely late - you should see the doctor whatever the result of the test.

if you are a few weeks late, its is possible you are pregnant, maybe you where in the early stages and that why your preggy test came back negative, go to your doctor and do a blood test to be 100% sure.trust me will will feel lot better knowing if you are or not. all the best

Go and get a blood test to be sure.....some home pregnancy tests will show a false negative if done too early.

of course the test can be wrong go to the clinic or doctors and get a pregnancy test becuase home test don't be right all the time and sometimes it doesn't show up fast enough.

You should probably go see a gynecologist or you can try the test again. Remember to try the test when you first urinate in the morning, as this is when they are most reliable.

try doin another test, as they always say a negative result could be positive but a positive result can't be negative, try doing it mid stream first thing in the morning for a better result, good luck if its what you want

i had the same problem with my daughter the test came back negative first, maybe you have done it too early! did you follow the instructions properly? id buy another one if that comes back the same id go to the doctors too much stress can meake your period late too, good luck xx
