American Wretling has completely lost the 'realism' of what Pro Wrestling stands for!!!!
I do believe today, that American Wrestling has really gone too far in the world of family entertainment. Well, to be honest, todays Pro Wrestling, particularly the American Wrestling such as the WWE has turned more adult entertainment than anything. To me, thats a bad thing.
The females showing nothing and all is the ULTIMATE killer for me.... and goes against Pro Wrestling altogether in my opinion. Coming behind that is the crappy 'drama' story telling it does. Then is the style of wrestling I see!!!
When I watch todays Pro Wrestling, especially the Americans, I notice that most matches lack a decent story and psycology. The timing are all wrong and there seems to be like thousands of things going on in a space of 1 minute.... (a bad thing if people dont understand me). I mean... Batista? He cannot wrestle, yet he is one of the main characters and It doesnt make ANY sense to me. Back in the 1940's, 50's, 60', 70's, etc, it was guys like Lou Thesz. A great example champion because HE CAN WRESTLE and it shows in his matches!!!! I think you get the idea.
If I had to choose which American Pro Wrestling era was best... I would say the late 80's (maybe early 90's) or before that!! 1995 onwards... that when it went wrong!!! Some will disagree with me because of Stone Cold and D-X and all that, but just accept my opinion (its a free country).
I persoanlly think the Japanese and British style (which I have mentioned before) are much better for viewing, or better still, I would ANYDAY prefer to watch the real stuff like Pride or UFC than watch the crap like WWE or TNA!!!
Vince McMahon needs to give the wrestlers more option and freedom on their skills. I know a select few in the WWE today can wrestle, and this needs to be addressed to the fans with this.
The fans want to see the athletic crap... but Vince needs to put across a 'put-up or shut-up' attitude towards his fans and bring back some old school style!!!!!! A style which shows more respect of what Pro Wrestling actually stands for...... not that "sports entertainment" it refer itself now!!!
The WWE has the "American style".... which is the big guys with big power moves like Batista!!!
The WWE has the "Mexican style".... which wrestler do the flying about moves like Rey Mysterio!!!
The WWE needs to include the "British style"..... which William Regal for example is more than capable of. Also Chris Benoit is capable also... but the promotion will not let them utilise this and the fans dont want to see that type of display!!!
Japan took into account the British style back in the 70's, and I LOVE watching promotion like New Japan Pro Wrestling in those days.... ABSOLUTELY fantastic stuff. I say no more!!!
I miss Bret Hart.... I miss Dean Malenko.... I miss Eddie Guerrero... I miss Curt Hennig... I miss Randy Savage... etc
There the few names that know psychology and story telling.... and are modern examples of what todays Pro Wrestling stands for in the USA. Not John Cena.... Not Batista.... etc
Thats my opinion anyway... as American wrestling needs to go back to the drawing board and realise where there going wrong... and bring in those styles that blew the minds of the past!!!
Could you see Lou Thesz being part of the WWE today? He would laugh his socks off!!!!!!

If i want to see people really beating the crap out of each other ill go into hull city centre at closing time.
To write off all american wrestlers as sissy boys is naive to say the least, Kurt angle is a legit tough guy who could probably hold his own with most as are sandman and Booker T.
Yes WWE style is fake looking at times but pretty much everyone in the audience know it is worked anyway so whats the problem?!
