We live in an age of equality of the sexes right? I am personally all for it. Yet it is still a big social expectation that men should put the toilet seat down after doing a pee. I argue that this should not be expected anymore. A man does not want to touch hte toilet seat any more than a woman. When a man goes to pee he touches the seat to lift it up. Then he is expected to touch it again to put it down so that a woman will not have to touch it to put it down herself. So why shouldnt they each just have to touch it when they use it. Men would never expect a woman to always leave the toilet seat up for their convenience. Im not paranoid about germs or touching the toilet seat just that it has occured to me that this is really a biased social ediquette.

I've had this debate with many guys and girls. Frankly, if it's his house, he has every right to leave the dang thing up. If it's the girl's house, well, I guess you should put it down simply for the idea of putting things back the way you found them. It doesn't really bother me if a guy leaves the toilet seat up. All you gotta do is just plop the thing back down. I usually look before I sit anyway. It's not like women don't do things like leave all their face stuff and makeup around the bathroom or leave hair everywhere.

Guys should have to put the toilet seat down after they pee because you all don't know what control is most of the time and you pee all over the seat and rim of the toilet. It's you're urine, not ours, so we shouldn't have to touch it. On top of that, it's a pain in the rear when we get up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom and fall INTO the toilet. When you're tired, it doesn't occur to us to check and make sure it's down and by the time you can catch yourself, you're as$ is already soaked. It makes us very mad, which in turn will make you mad because you won't get any from us. You're completely right that it's a biased social ediquette, but it makes us happy and that's why guys are here for, right?

Just put it down. Its not that hard. Otherwise a woman will go in there and might not see that its up and could fall in. Thats not cool. You use the toilet with the seat down sometimes too. So if you consider that, and how much more often a woman uses the toilet, really it is being used more while the seat is down. So doesn't it make more sense to just put it down?? Be a gentleman.

Lets just say everybody should put the toilet lid down!
That way there is no favortism and we all get our hands germy!
I believe what is more important is for the guys to lift the seat up so they don't tinkle on the seat where a girl has to sit - but ya - everbody should put the lid down.

An answer to your question. I don't know about other female's, but for me I don't like falling in the toilet when I need to use the bathroom early in the morning when I just wake up. To me that's very gross and rude for the other person to do that.

It shouldn't be about battles of the sexes. I put the seat and lid down because I was raised to believe it is just common courtesy.

I see your point, BUT your forgeting that you use the toliet seat down for your defecation deposits aswell. So i just think it would make sense to leave it the way the toliet is used more.

via fact pee freaking smells. it fairly is gross and it fairly is weird and wonderful. i like the lid thoroughly down, even while it fairly is flushed, via fact loos are only gross. it is not a huge deal. fairly guy? C'mon.

Anything, the two sexes are different.
I open the doors for my lady, take out the trash, handle more difficult manual labhor, so...
I expect food, back, rubs ect.
Is that sexist? Hell no!
Would I apprecaite more if she did my jobs? No.
Would she apprecaite more if I did hers? No.
Sexes are different, deal with it.
