Someone snuck into her house at night, brought her to the basement, sexually assaulted her, whack her on the head a few times with a blunt instrument, and strangled her. After they were done they left her body down there and left a ransom note upstairs requesting $118,000 to make it sound like a kidnapping.
All this went on while the parents were sleeping... which made it seem like they did it or that they were lying. People thought they had something to do with it for 10 years.... Until now.

I think her parents are involved, some how. Or I think the brother had something to do with it and they are covering it up for him. Maybe he was jealous of his sister and tried to hurt her, maybe not kill her, but hurt her. but then something happened. I think then the parents tried to cover it up. Since they lost Jonbenet, they didn't want to lose another child. Thats my theory.
I just feel so bad for the little girl, whatever happened to her. We may never find out.

She was sexually assulted and murdered in the very early hours of the day after Christmas, 1996.

She was killed in her house around christmas in 1996. The killer is supposedly in custody but not befor her mom died of cancer a couple months ago.
