He was fined $20,000 & put on probation until December 31, 2006. What do you think about it? Do you think NASCAR made a good decision? Or do you think that Carl got off easy & the penalty should've been worse? Just looking for opinions.......

I think he got off too easy. Like others have already said...
$20,000 is just pocket change to these guys.
So what if I break the rules ....I'll just pay the fine and still do what I want. I think points should've been taken and sit out a race or maybe two. Give him "something to think about" and
"some time to do it" !
His vindictive actions were done under a CAUTION no driver is expecting to have to do defensive driving under caution.
(and shouldn't have to worry about keeping his hand in the window when he's won the race and holding up the #1)
Just my humble opinion.
God Bless.
Go........Junior...Smoke..Jeff...and Kenny !!!!!
Go.......Chevy Racing...
(YOU TOO MARTIN)

"EDDIE HASKEL" could use some ANGER MANAGEMENT.

All the talk from people about how NASCAR should be fair in their actions. I can't believe how bad people on HERE are. If anyone was really watching the race they saw the 60 car get loose (when the 88 took the air off of his right rear) and lose momentum, when that happened it allowed the 8 car to close up very fast as he had a huge run going anyway. With this happening yes the 8 did hit the 60.

Try following a semi down the interstate at 190 MPH then have to stop when some jerk cuts in front of you and see how well your car slows down , same scenario.

When the 60 pulled back onto the track after stopping on pit road it was with the whole intention of hitting the 8 car. To me that makes the two offenses totally different. I also feel that the 60 got off very lightly with just a $20,000 fine and probation for the rest of the season. That coming from a Roush fan.

The driver of the 60 even apologized before the Cup race on Sunday after he saw the replay.

I think it was an ok decision, except he should've gotten a points penalty too! As you know I am not a fan of Jr. but I think the boy was just racing! Edwards and Stewart need to find another way to control their anger on and off course, obviously they are all there to win! Nascar needs to start somewhere with penalties...hopefully next time Stewart will get the same treatment! Edwards USED to be one of my favorite drivers, now he just has major issues he needs to sort out!

NASCAR needs to put an end to aggresive driving. I am actully glad that someone is standing up to the bullys particularly Jr. and Stewart. They need to be taken down to size. I wish NASCAR would put them on probation and fine them, but that won't happen. I would like to see the other car owners take a firm stand on this. If people Like Jack Rousch would tell NASCAR they need to get tougher on these other drivers or they would pull their teams from the races- it would make a difference and maybe something would change. Until NASCAR decides to put a stop to wreckless and dangerous driving- the other drivers will have to settle it themselves.

There should have been a suspension. Anything that takes place under caution or after the race, should be a minimum 3 week suspension for any and all nascar series.

Ya know I used to be a huge Carl Edwards fan. I thought he was just wonderful and the backflips were his trademark. Now, NO. He is such a hot head. Was Jr. was right or wrong who knows. but.......to show up in the winners circle was just terrible bad sprotsmanship. I believe he got off way easy. Not a fan of Carl Edwards anymore.

I think it's a normal penaly for the first infraction (and before anyone jumps down my throat it is the first infraction. His run-in with Tony Stewart was during a Cup Race..this is his first Busch offense.)
I was a little suprised to not see any points deductions at all, but as I said this is a pretty normal penatly for first infraction.

I think it should have been a lot more. 20k is pocket change to these guys. He should have settled it the way they used to-when no one was looking, and I'm not talking about cars.

Dale Jr. is the wrong guy to do something like that too. I see you are a fan of #8, but he is NASCAR'as golden boy right now.

I think it was right. Maybe the fine could have been more steep, but since it was after the race and not anything technical with the race car, there shouldn't have been any points involved.

i think they went easy cause they know that sr.'s son is mentally handicapped and thinks he is the intimidator, tho' he is not as intimidating as one of his daddy's turds. he sucks and was wrong and nascar knows that, but had to punish edwards somehow to prevent everybody from doing that for every little thing.
