I tried to get unemployment checks while I went to school. I was denied, I sent out an appeal, talked to a judge, and he said if he didnt make a decision that Friday, it would be made the following Monday. Its been a week and a half and I still havent heard anything. Is there something I could be missing? Who can I call to see what is going on? Thanks!

Not the clerk of courts - call unemployment. The answer will be in their file.

What kind of judge? In NC, you appeal to an Unemployment Board who decides. We do not pay unemployment to people going to school. Unemployment is only for people with full time jobs not in school. Call the secretary of the judge or clerk if that is who keeps his cases.

I would call the unemployment department or the court in which the decision is to be made and find out whats going on.

If you're in Canada:

You can't get unemployment while going to school (with the exception of trade school)

School is considered your job, therefore you are not unemployed.
