it's not a black thing. it's a socio-economic thing.
basically, there's a small socio-economic group in which blacks are leading in numbers that are usually the bad guys so to speak. this group is from the "other side of the tracks". poor education, no money, and drug use coupled with a disdain for the "system" leads these types all too often down the wrong path.
how they got there, weather or not it's easy to get out of this sub-class, and what can or should be done to break the is a long debated topic that generally divides liberals and conservatives down the middle.

You may not be a racist, however you and everyone in the USA, are guided by institutional racist rhetoric. When you compare crime first understand this avenue of thinking. Whenever a crime is illustrated in the media; if it’s a person of color; their picture and ethnic group is mention. If they are Caucasian; only the name and crime is mention. Therefore someone like yourself, among many develop a since that there is a disproportionate high rate of crime from a particular group of people. Don't believe; take the test tonight and the rest of the week. In college in a sociology class we did the experiment and were stocked; mix ethnic groups.

After posting my comments; I'm inclined to believe that many of the entries are based upon limited exposures to the Afro-American community. I'm Afro-American; and really have the best experiences with my brothers and sisters within the community. I in my life span have met those who are indicative of the description. None the less; I've met many more who out number those showing antisocial behavior as someone put it.

In as much; I'm developing a sense as to why some Afro-Americans might have a chip on their shoulders when, constantly they are reminded of slavery and their skin complexion. Why does it have to do with education, employment, entrepreneurship, vacationing, or simply purchasing a home within you economic status? Well the truth of the matter; is that many people are prejudices when it comes to Afro-Americans in the United States.

To read the crap posted on this page from many; you would believe that every person of African decent, is anti-social, was born in crime ridden neighbors, has bad credit, uneducated, and has made no attribution to this country. How sad, that the individuals who promote such nonsense rhetoric; more than likely have no association with the African-American community other than TV, News, or that one person; who in any ethnic group we all call the bad seed.

It’s unfair, and cannibalistic to the American fabric to believe that the majority of Afro-Americans have a huge disproportionate level to crime. We make of 13% of the population, and only 2%, at a stretch represents crime and anti-social behavior. The challenge is, find out why many young black men are locked up in person. Could it be that the rule of measurement is unbalance; and lady justice is persuaded by institutional racism? Why do white males busted for selling cocaine have lesser jail sentences than Afro-Americans, who commit the same crime? Just recently Mel Gibson was arrested for a DUI. If it had been Danny Glover; with the same antics would he be in jail or dead?

To the gentlemen; you indicated that Africans were so easily asserted into slavery by Europeans. I suggest you make better use of the public library; look under history. Prior to Africans in the United States as slaves were White Europeans, and Native American Indians. The White salves ran away and lied about their identity; the Native Americans died from the diseases and didn't last long in the fields under such harsh conditions. Because of our complexion; we didn't have the luxury as the other slaves from white descendants of Europe; nor did we die as the Native Americans. Even to this day; the dark complex allows institutionalize degradation to continue. It’s a matter of time before groups such as Hezbollah, come to America and takes over; because we are too busy playing race cards.

Come on dude, dont waste our time trying to start crap over yahoo answers.

Do some research. Compile data. Contact the bureau that does national surveys for this country. Do a study of criminals. Interview a black person who has committed a crime, or talk to people in prison. Any of these suggestions are more feasible than to ask why, like there is a simple one word answer or something.

Like oh! You are the only one to ever ask this question.

It is true that African-Americans are disproportionately charged with violent and property crimes. It is certainly not any natural deviance that is attributable to biology. The United States has a long and despicable history of racism. This history has both sociological and psychological effects on people of lighter and darker complexion in the United States. American society is, sadly, still rather segregated. In a nation where only 13% of the population is African-American we see entire neighborhoods where the population is (discounting very poor, often immigrant segments of the population) nearly 99% African-American. This segregation of schools and churches and communities is terrible.
I've met African-Americans who are obviously very troubled by the historical issue of African slavery on this contenient. I was aghast that sometimes these people felt genuine shame at the history of slavery - as if it was weakness in the oppressed-enslaved that led to the condition, rather than unrighteousness in the oppressor. You are what you do, not what happens to you. This is what I believe. But the racist American culture had clouded these African-Americans' minds, and they came to be ashamed of WHAT HAPPENED TO their ancestors. Racism is still very deep in the American society and culture, and it is manifest in many ways. It is terrible.

Where there is poverty there will always be crime.

It's as simple as that! If you go in poor places with a large black community, then they will more likely commit crimes, same thing if you do in places with more '' white people'' ..........
I'm not racist at all, it's just logical
But many reasons are at cause... Such as the role of the father, some lack of education in certain areas...

While they may be more innately aggressive, it isn't outside the range of normal. We tell our (white) aggressive folk to calm down, make them responsible for their actions, and so forth. I believe that blacks are taught that whites are responsible for their actions, if they are poor they can be violent, that if they are caught it's racist, that anyone who doesn't agree with them is racist, etc. They aren't held accountable since they were little.
You will notice the civilized blacks that you know are the ones that were raised right and take responsibility for themselves.
