Could I still play soccer with a tear to my ALC?

Question

hi, im 13 years old and i tore the ALC in my knee during a Four wheeler accident at the beggingin of the summer, I had an MRI done and now i have to take Physical Therapy...I havent started them yet but would it hurt to play soccer even with a brace?

i assume u mean an ACL...... a soccer teammate of mine tore hers at the beginning of season in november last year and couldnt play for the rest of the season (november thru march). and yes, it will hurt. :( hope u get better! :)

it's ACL first off, and you shouldn't play soccer. My boyfriend tore his ACL's in each knee in high school playing football, he kept playing sports and all that...he had reconstructive surgery on both knees, just finished the other one in april. You can consult your doctor, and wearing a brace will help, but you will probably eventually need to wind up getting surgery done. the younger you have it done, the quicker you will heal. I know you don't want to hear any of that cause you are young and want to be active, i played soccer for over 12 years, house league and for the highschool and would have hated to miss a season. When you have reconstruction done, you can't run for 8 months, so if you have to have surgery, have it RIGHT after the season so you'll be able to play next season. don't rush the recovery either.

sorry buddy i tore my ACL and i play baseball i tried to put a brace on it i made things worse. Get it fixed and some time you will be able to play again.

You can't play now, it could take a year before you are fully healed to play soccer... play it safe, you only get two knees...

I function ok with a torn ACL and Miniscus. but they go out on me from time to time and it hurts like a bltch
