I believe the radio station has a playlist - and it is generally common to have a, say, boyband like 'blue' to be pushed at the radio stations as they are popular - popular music popular radio station playing music everyone commercially wants to buy. I knew of a guy that sent in a recording to 'the john peel sessions - radio one' it was actually played several times and each time it was played he received £60 - the nine to five song is just being lighthearted me thinks m8

Our local radio station is the same in Bedfordshire. Must be something to do with not having much of a budget. I've stopped listening now and found better stations. Like you, I wanted to smash the radio.

A good question. I vowed that if Magic in London played "Africa" by Toto one more time I'd switch off for ever. They did, and I did. Now I listen to Radio 2. Playlists are all well & good, but with the millions of tracks available what's the point in constant repetition?

I don't care about this usually, but since you asked, here goes... Must they play BEP, every hour on the hour?...I mean, even here in the L.A. area, there CAN'T be THAT many BEP fans who love their stuff! And what's up w/ that crap from "LMFAO"?...or Kanye West?...or lady GaGa(whatever her name was)? Trust me, radio isn't the same anymore! Remember, I'm almost 72, so I get a headache everytime that a BEP song is played!

Don't know why they do it, but it *is* annoying. My technology teacher put the radio on when we all had to go into school to finish coursework. I had three days of the same eight songs over and over and over. Wanted to smash it after a while. Thank god for ipods!

Because most of time there on play list. They try to play the most popular songs to advertise new songs. Or some form of subliminal messaging so you could out buy the song...

Because they are lazy to reprogram it.
I am listening to classic fm now, as the other stations play bl**dy Kooks and Orson all day, can't stand that rubbish.
