Don't you love it when people show their ignorance? You say the royal family isn't even English, but have German blood. Guess what? So do most English people if you go far enough back. And you have to go several generations back to find Elizabeth's German blood.
Philip has a loose lip, but he's only the Consort, not the monarch. And Harry isn't the only kid who's dressed up in Nazi attire for a party. It may have been in poor taste, but poor taste isn't covered by the criminal code. It's something that kids do at times, and adults too, for that matter.
As to your suggestion that they should be assassinated -- that puts you far below them on any scale you care to mention.

Excuse me, you are aware that all Englishmen of English blood are German? T'was not two thousand years ago when the original English, the Anglo-Saxons, sailed over from Germany/Denmark/Holland and pushed the natives into Wales and Cornwall. Have you ever wondered why our language is so much more like German than Welsh? In fact, Old English and Old German are identical languages. England is a Germanic nation, so how does that they have German blood make them any less English?

They can trace their line right back to, and are the direct heir of, Cerdic, one of the first Saxon Kings to set foot on this land, and the founder of the Kingdom of Wessex, which gave rise their other ancestors, Alfred the Great and Ethelred. How much more English can you get? So theirs some foreign blood, so you're pure English are you (which would make you pure German anyway), so bloody what?
The Hanovarians who inherited the English thrones, while German raised, had English ancestry and blood, that's why they were in line you pillock.

Anyway, yea, Phillip said some things that would have been best left unsaid, I'm sure he's not alone. While I deplore it, in some parts of the country almost everyone is racist to some degree. I think you'll agree he isn't truly racist, he doesn't discriminate in actions, he has just said some very unPC things in his time.

I think you're the fascist here mate!

We can tell you're not very patriotic.

Some may be racist, but I don't think the major ones are. I'm offended by Harry's Nazi outfit and his grandmother, father, etc made him apologize. He seems to be quite interested in military type of stuff so I think he probably viewed it as just a military costume and not so much of a statement of hate. I still feel it is a really bad choice. Personally Nazis, Hitler, and white power freaks me out.
If they appear snobby or snooty it's simply a characteristic of rich, wealthy, and powerful families, and naturally those are small circles. They rarely see minorities. I know that the princes love popular music and half of that is composed of minorities. They probably love rap, hip-hop, r and b, etc.

Simply, they aren't racist, they are just sheltered and deprived to a certain degree.

And I do agree with one above statement. Despite their life of priviledged and sheltered life they do seem nice and down to earth, and I get the feeling that Harry and William (at the very least) try to emphasize or sympathsize with more common people.

Well poor Philip does put his mouth in his foot with the comments he comes out with. As for Harry Nazi episode was huge mistake. But the Queen herself has never put a foot wrong herself. It just Philip. The Late Queen Mother was Scottish.

I hardly think they are racist.
Harry was young & trying to make a joke - in bad taste I give you, but a joke nonetheless.
Philip is just the product of his generation when it was acceptable to make those sort of comments.
I would like to bet that your own Grandparents have uttered a few racist comments.
Before you launch into the fact that they are in the public eye, show a little compassion. How would you like your every move to be public property. Poor Philip can't even f*rt on the balcony without it being front page news. What do peope expect for goodness sake, he is a man in his eighties.
By the way, i am not really a fan of royalty but think your comments are unfair.

This is a very intemperate question and much of it is ridiculous. Philip is not very sound on race and Harry is just stupid but I don't believe this is fair to say about all of them.

The only serious point to be made on this issue is that when the Race Discrimination Act was passed in the mid 1970s, outlawing racial discrimination, the royal family received an exemption from this act. Now why on earth would they want an exemption unless they wished to discrminate?

I think they are probably just as prejudice as some other people I know. Is it possible you are racist yourself? Racism is unfortunately still alive and well in the UK judging by how many people voted for the BNP at the last general election. They do however have the right to life, just as everyone else does, regardless of their origins. The institution of monarchy however should be abolished immediately.

No...just sheltered and spoiled. With all the members of the "firm'" on the payroll you would think someone would keep them in check...they spent a lot of time and great deal of effort denegrating Diana who had more class and royal blood in her than any of them. Phillip was always a quick wit and product of his generation. In America we follow the news of the boys who are college educated and military men and believe their mother would be proud of them. We miss Diana still, we like the Queen but don't give any thought to the rest of them. No I don't believe they are racist...it is not in anyone's interest to be that.

Most of us are not English, if you only count 'pure' English blood. I bet you wouldn't have to go far back to find foreign blood in your own genealogy.

A fascinating juxtaposition, though, in your question of a complaint about racism combined with a racist slur! Very clever.

They're German/Greek. I think you may be right. Philip's slitty eyes comment when visiting China was hardly polite and Harry's Nazi costume was not a joke. These people sometimes show their true colors. They consider themselves better than anybody else, always have done, always will. Why anybody would align themselves with these cretins is a mystery.
