I had this book that was filled with a collection of various fairy tales from around the world. The format of the book was kind of like a calendar, where each day would have different stories leading up to December 31. My favorite story was the one on May 20 because that is my birthday and also the same day I got the book when I was younger. I actually still have the book. Aah, memories.

There was a book called Donkey Donkey about a donkwy (of sourse) who did not like the way he looked, he went around to all the barnyard animals and each of them tried to help him change his look - in the end he learned that you just have to be yourself and be happy with who you are.....I read that over and over at like 5 or 6 (early reader). I relayed my love of the book to my daughter as she was growing up (she is 19 now) and a couple of Chritmases ago low and behold what was under the tree for me? A copy of the book! It was very sweet - I hope to give it to her child some day!

I know this will date me, but, I loved getting my new Hardy Boys book everytime the new one came out. I can't remember whether I got the books through the mail like as in a club or I bought it in a store as they were put out on the shelf. I think the former. I loved the "easy reading" and the fact that they were "my" books, something special, just for me. One of my sisters got the Nancy Drew books, and later my younger sister loved the Dr. Seuss books. But MY favorite was the Hardy Boys books. Thanks for the memories. God Bless you.

Don't know that book.
I like Angelina Ballerina, any story by Ronald Dahl (spelling?), and collection of stories with the mice and Peter Rabit cottontail. Of course Disney ones too.
