Most health care professionals say between 4-8 weeks. Depending on how the baby was delivered and how your body is healing.

Um 6 to 8 weeks. Because you need time to heal. And you can get pregnant very easily. So even if you do have sex, use a condom. Alot of my friends made that mistake, and ended up pregnant a month later. Not a good idea, plus when the baby is born, it hurts alot more, and it gives the baby a hard time. Because of the simple fact you never let your self heal long enough.

The doctors will take six weeks before you're body is back to normal. You should wait until your doctor says it 's OK. at your 6 weeks check up. I have know friends that did not and started to bleed heavy. Just be safe and don't mess up and make it longer by having sex too early.

OBs and Midwives generally recommend waiting 6 weeks after a vaginal delivery. There may be some who suggest waiting a week or two longer. And after waiting the allotted time, you can have sex when you're ready to have sex.

Six to eight weeks to avoid any infections, it would also depend on how the pregnancy and labor went.
In any event, remember to use protection and start taking the pill since a woman can be fertile again after only two weeks.
Have fun! *GRIN*
