I live in a very small apartment.I don't like cats. Dogs are a "maybe". A snake would be alright, but im kind of scared of them...lol. A bird is too noisy..... what do you suggest???

A female miniature schnauzer (smaller than a male) and they don't shed. BUT...you have to keep them groomed about every 4 to 8 weeks. Good Luck with your search!!

I own a chinchilla. They are the cutest thing! You keep them in a cage about 3'w x 1.5'd x 4'h. They look sort of like a a squirrel with a skinny tail and stay smaller than a bunny. They are very soft and odorless (it's true!). You will need to clean their cage once a week though. Other than feeding them daily and giving them an occasional "ash bath" they are very low maintenace. You can let him out to run around the house if it is safe. But keep in mind that they will leave little droppings (tiny pellets) around that will have to be swept up. They only make a low clicking noise once in a while for attention. Here are some photos and more info. They are great pets that live 10 - 13 years so they are a committment.

There are three colors silver, black and white. The silver/gray ones are most common and therefore least expensive. I paid about $125 for mine.

I would not suggest getting a dog as you live ina small apartment and a snake would take up to much room.... have you thought of getting some fish or hamsters or cats would be the best here as they do not need big spaces check out my site

Considering I've had hundreds of pets in big and small places

I'd suggest a Guinea Pig or Rat or Chinchilla or Hamster
(make sure it lives in a cage - but you can take it out to play)

I am not a rodent person, but maybe a hamster? There fuzzy and cute! And its not a big commitment either! My friends have hamsters and I sometimes babysit them! Thier noisy at night though so you would have to find a spot other than your bedroom! Hope that helps!

How much time do you have to give to the animal? What animals are accepted according to your lease? Without that info & a little more about your life-style, the best answer would be fish, which are relatively low maintenance unless you go exotic.

I live in a room, and have a cat and a squirrl. You have to get the squirrl as a baby ,so it can imprint on you, than by the 5th month ,it will come when you call its name , and play like a happy cat, and is really a blast to have . They are so much fun. They eat nuts and pretty much anything it wants.

Either a small rodent (rat, mouse, hamster, gerbil) or fish. If you're scared of a snake, DONT GET ONE. They can sense your fear and it is possible they will bite!

Get a mouse. Get a girl and get her as young as you can and still tell that it's a girl. She'll be more friendly that way. They only take a little space and the girls don't smell at all as long as you take care of the cage. They are sweet, friendly, inexpensive pets.
