squigit... if you actually knew how to spell 'holes' your answer might succeed in being insulting. Now you've just made me weep for the future of insulting in good English.

It's a tiny baby conspiracy. They are all out to get you. The babies meet up every day. (They call it day care, but it's just a front for the little baby mafia they have.)

Don't they know it's disconcerting? Oh they know, believe you me, they know. And they love, love, LOVE how uncomfortable it makes you. Haven't you ever noticed how some babies will stare and then all of a sudden give you a toothless grin? They are MOCKING you man, it's all a big baby joke to them!

Cheeky little things. They thought they were safe. They thought their cover was perfect. That innocent face, those guileless eyes, that helpless to do for themselves act. And you! You clever thing you, you TOTALLY cracked the case.

Well done!

They're still trying to figure out what you are.....I'm sure you were joking when you asked this question, right? That's something I would ask jokingly. I have a little girl and I love it when she even looks at me much more stare. Someone has to be interested in you for one reason of another to stare at you. Baby's just do it because. You may be pretty good looking, or else the baby probably would be hollering and trying to look away from you whenever you come around. If this is a serious question, you should be delighted that the baby is taking interest in you by staring.

This is whats known as imprinting. Babies stare to commit a face to memory and therefore form a relationship with the person behind the face. This in turn makes the other person stare back at the baby and therefore also imprint the babies face in their mind. New mums can spend hours looking at their babies to help with the bonding process.

They're like magpies. They like shiny things.

Have you had your teeth polished lately? Or perhaps it's just your shining personality that draws them.

At any rate, just pull a face. They'll start crying, but at least they won't be staring!
