make sure she elevates her foot whenever possible. Also, she could try heat instead of ice cause some people's bodies respond better to heat than ice. I would also say to get a second opinion if the pain continues for another week.

I had tendonitis when I was on active duty. All that running and marching messes up your feet. But guess what. I still got it. It doesn't go away. Its a condition of the cartilage in your foot. What she can do is wear a brace for a while, stretch her foot and eventually she won't notice it anymore. By the way, you don't get tendonitis by dropping things on your foot. She might want to go get a second opinion on it if the pain persists.

HAVING ARTHRITIS, I AM QUITE PRONE TO tendonitis..... if it is swollen, red and hot, try bathing in some luke warm water and gently moving the foot, so it does not go stiiff, add some radox! Towel dry and add some ice wrapped in a towel and elevate and rest, if the pain persists add some ibuleve gel onto it, so it hits the pain there and then. However if it is swollen and cold, again bathe hotter water, with radox and move foot gently, towel dry and add some deep heat and elevate or a hot water bottle, again add some ibuleve, take some paracetamol, if you need walk around try supporting with elasticated bandage, if this persists I would go to your gp for a second opinion, and ask for physio, its not nice, I hope she feels better soon.

It.s gonna take quite a while I'm afraid. She need to rest it as much as posible and don't use ice. That will tense the tendon making it more painful. Gentle heat and gentle exercise and time is the only answer. It took me 2 months.

do you know if xrays were taken? i know a great web site that could prove very helpful if you want to try it before making another trip to doctors office [i would try a podiatrist next]. try myfootshop.com, go directly to the link in my source, i think you'll find it very helpful, if not then make an appointmen to your local podiatrist for treatment. the web site has informative articles and products to help you treat yourself. give it a shot and good luck!

if it in acheilles tendon needs to do calf stretches ++. heel raise can help ease pain as it will shorten muscle, making it more comfortable short term. Refer to physio & try ultrasound, works well.
