you shouldnt have any voltage at the fan unless the relay is activated, the only way the relay can be activated it by the ac signal or the temp sensor. if you jumped the sensor and no fan then the relay could be bad, you could have a ground problem with the fan or the wiring from the sensor to the relay is damaged

I'm not a mechanic- but it could be the fan sensor relay.
If the car overheats again, you might try turning on the heater on full blast. I know it will be very uncomfortable in the summertime, but the heater will draw out heat from the engine compartment.
It would be better for you to break out a sweat than for the engine to be damaged.
You might also check your fusebox, to see if one of the fuses requires replacement.

the Fan relay switch has went bad on it,,it also has a fuse for it,,make sure the fuse is good,,but the relays go bad on these a lot,,there simple to replace,,i think the last one i bought ,,cost around 20 bucks,,i own a repair shop,,and do this a lot,,you might want to jump the fan with a hot wire just to make sure the fan is good,,before you replace the relay on it,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s

Did you check to see if your converter is stoped up that happened to a friend of mine.and if you put in to much antifreeze it will make it run hot.
