Depends, did I take the two from the three I started with (still 3)or did I take the two from someone else (in which case, 5)or did I walk away after taking the two apples (then 2)?

I have 3 apples.
I take away 2 apples from where?
If I took away 2 apples from the 3, I'd still have 3 apples.
If I took away 2 apples from somewhere else, I'd have 5 apples.
If I took 2 apples and left the one, I'd have 2 apples

You would still have 3. If you have them and take 2, you still have all 3!

I think you asked the question wrong because you can't take apples away from yourself because you already have them and if you took them you would still have them.
Now if someone else took 2 away you would have 1 apple.
If i took two away from someone else I would have two.
