I'm 54, male, live alone, no kids. My life is mess and sometimes I think about giving it up. But I got to knw a boy who´s now 15. His family situation is kinda bad, his mom died when he was 2 yo and he lives with a friend of mine who he calls mom. Fr about a year I've helped this kid as I can. I became a kind of father fgure to him. Now there's a link beteween us, I worry about the boy, he's part f my life. Some days ago he was really down and I told him life is a gift from God, things will get better, he's not alone in his teen years, etc. A lot of things I myself don't belive at age 54
This boy has been a wondeful experience for a man who couldnt have kids, but I was on the verge of taking my own life. I'm still a very depressed man. If I take my life, how will this impact the boy? I dont understand why God put this boy in the life of a troubled man like me.

you cant be that bad.my god he obviously values your opinions.good for you for being so supportive.look, i know life is ****.yes wars go on and we could all be in iraq or something, but i know one persons problem,if its big to them then thats the issue.do you work?the less you do in life, the more lethargic you feel, the more time alone you spend, the deeper the depression gets.its not just you.its a fact and it happens to alot of people who really feel life has been cruel to them.
if you have noone you can really open up to then go to the doctors.they would have heard it before so please do not be shy.say it how it is .they can help you, honestly.but you need to be strong.my auntie is just like you.she has good times and very low times.you can get over this.its really really scary and daunting i know but there is a world out there.be there for this boy.you would break his heart if you did something daft.and you cant come back....ever.not good.i know you can turn your life around.god bless...remember there are soooo many people that can help you get back on track.

boy fella that's a no brainer-no offense but no one is sent just for giggles but instead a purpose-perhaps to better Both lives. Besides killing yourself is cowardice my friend-its an admission of resignation which truly ends in demise and you don't sound like that is what you are after. Keep trudging and doing the next right thing and certainly keep involving yourself with others..the human element and involvement is what makes the experiences we have HUMAN and to go w/out this is to die w/in and I just bet you are'nt trying to do that. love and care to you

Get off Yahoo Answers and look up some professional help. If you work, there is usually employee assistance offered for free. They at least could make a recommendation for you.

Neither do I, but don't blow yourself away, that's the easy way out. You gotta start believing in yourself, your not too old yet, so think positive.

One reason God had you and this boy cross paths was to fill the void the each of you is missing. I am sure you are someone he looks up to as well.
It is natural to go to God for comfort or relief from the difficult situations we face in this life. From strained relationships to life-changing tragedies we do not welcome strife. To know that God offers more than mere endurance is a powerful truth, one we too often overlook. We encourage you to continue to seek His comfort and strength; we also encourage you to not view the present situation as one which should only be endured until relief comes. We find contentment when we believe there is reason and purpose for our circumstances. If you are a child of God, you know that your life belongs to God, and nothing can come into your life unless He allows it. Believe that with all your heart, and look about expectantly for what God is doing in you or through you. Review the stories of Joseph and Daniel. Both stories reveal marvelous works of God occurring in the suffering of His own. Look also at Paul. How many were won to a saving knowledge of Jesus because Paul did not wait for all issues to be resolved before he expected to be used; he was used where he was (Acts 16:22-36). And He was able to rejoice and be content regardless of what life brought (Philippians 4:11-13).

I know that you may be hurting, physically in pain, and tired of the battle. Turn from those things and look at the life of your dear Savior. He was led to the desert, tired, hungry, and scorched by the sun. Look at Him on the way to the cross, once again in pain—through no fault of His own. He understands your suffering, and He will not allow it to be wasted. "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need" (Hebrews 4:15-16).

How might God work through you to bring healing to your situation? Are you willing to give up your "right" to sympathy in order to receive real peace, in order to become more like Christ? If so, we encourage you to lift your eyes to the Lord. How is God providing you with comfort and assurance of His care? He has promised to walk with you and to help you to bear this burden (Matthew 11:28). He promises that He has a plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11), and that He has work for you to do (Ephesians 2:10). Your present days are part of that plan. Pray for solutions; but until they come, let every moment be used to glorify God and to make you more like Christ. "To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me" (Colossians 1:29).

May the God of comfort and peace be your daily strength according to His promise in Isaiah 41:10, which states: "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

You need to explain all this to a professional, and not rely on us to solve your problems.
