I took on a different perspective on life (after my brother died, though that part is not the lucky part :-( ) and turned everything "negative" into a positive.
Good luck breeds good luck - that is so true with me. I bought my first French lottery ticket and won over £50 Euros. Gave it to my host who played 3 more times using the same money, winning each time.
I have the most wonderful and mature 7 year-old who asked me how to make a cup of tea a few days ago.... And the next day, and every morning since then, I have a nice cup of tea and breakfast on a tray waiting for me.
I got into a top London med school after being turned down by all the unis applied to - after Clearing. I found a part-time job that pays more than a Univ Grad would get per hour (also teaching undergrads!!), I found my soulmate a few weeks ago in the States and EVERY DAY I think, "How did I get so lucky to live the life I lead?"
So, all in all, the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me is being alive.... How many people (rest their souls) can say they are (literally and hypothetically)?
Oh, I also won a tenner on the Lotto, my first lottery ticket since coming back from the US. I did buy one in the States but I just knew I wasn't gonna be a millionaire that way.... I'm already the richest girl in the world.

Hey lozzi_pop22! This is a good question! For me the luckiest thing that ever happened to me was that I was at a dance years ago and they had a raffle. All night I didn't want to buy a ticket because I always thought I never win anything. Well I bought the last raffle ticket before they stopped selling them and I won 1st prize which was $300.00, a bottle of their best champagne and a gift certificate. I've won stuff since those years but that was my 1st win so I felt good. You know buying the last ticket and winning 1st prize! Shocked me!

Don't know if this counts as lucky, more of a coincidence really. But when I was in the Air Force, I was issued a Great Coat for a parade (Bit Chilly in the North East of Scotland). On the inside of the Coat was my Dad's Name and Service Number... he'd been issued the coat in the Fifties and I got issued the same one 40 years later!!!

Luck happens...but sometimes it takes a lot of hard work too!
The luckiest thing to happen to me was getting chosen for a full college scholarship...I gotta go anywhere I wanted, for FREE!
Yes...I worked my butt off in high school, but I also think a lil luck was involved!

When I was little I always wanted to get the easter egg at the a city wide hunt with the #! on it. Then one year I happened across it....actually I saw it right behind another girl. She missed the PRIZE egg because she was bending over to pick up another egg. I was sooooo excited that when the hunt was over I went straight over to the prize trailor and found out that I had won a bicycle! I got my picture in the paper with the bike and everything! I Loved that Bike!

getting finished from my last job. i walked into another job with the same pay but 6 weeks holiday better hours and made a claim at employment tribunal, got a few grand in payout for my trouble. the thing is that i would never have left of my own accord even though the job was cr*p the management stumbled from one disaster to the next. the hours were cr*p, cos i'd got set in my ways and dragged down to their level. On the up now so thanks previous employer

Getting a long haul flight plus connecting flights free because my bank messed up my account details. In exchange for acusing me briefly of money laundering (amongst other things), they scrapped any debts on my debit card. That meant a free chinese take away too :-)
