I want to merge about 40 JPEG files that I scanned onto my computer into one PDF file. I need help on this one.

there are various free pdf creators, you can download them off http://www.download.com/

(and btw, the free and paid version of adobe's pdf programs is different program, the "free" one is Adobe Reader and the "Paid" one is Adobe Acrobat)

For me, I usually use Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/ ), which can export file as pdf, but OpenOffice is not specifically pdf creator though, it's a full office suite.

You can only CREATE pdf files with the full version of Adobe Acrobat which you would have to buy. You cannot with the free version, it's only for reading them.

If you have the full version I'm sure you can navigate the menu and create a pdf and import what you want in it.
