Yeah, they know what it represents too, but my family and friends are very open minded, so they could care less about who's displaying a rainbow flag and who's not.

I'm not sure about where you live, but I live in Columbus, OH. When I go towards OSU campus area there are quite a few houses and businesses with rainbow flags, HRC flags, etc. displayed. There's cars with GLBT bumper stickers. Some neighborhoods are very progressive. I myself have small flag in my appartment and two pride bumper stickers on the back bumper. The only problem that I've had so far is my mother hiding her face while she was riding in my car in my home town. The only reason I didn't make her walk was that she has arthritis really bad.

Why give some coward who wouldn't say anything to your face the chance to vandalise your car when you are not around? Also It has spread to mean just diversity rather than exclusively gay.
If you live in Weho and SF everybody is gay so you don't need it and it was kind of a 90s fashion thing. When str8 people know what they are it is so out

Most of us have traded in our cars which had the rainbow stickers on them. Just never bothered to get around to putting a new one on. The appeal has worn off somewhat.
Yes, my parents know and my mother keeps an HRC Equality sticker on her car!

I have rainbow stickers and feminist bumper stickers all over my jeep. I live in a college town in Wisconsin and I see a lot of them on cars around here. Maybe it's just where you are located at.

I use to have one on every car I've purchased. I don't know why I don't anymore, maybe I'm getting older and I don't know.... I use to want to prove to everyone I was proud.. Maybe I just know I'm proud and that's all that matters now.... Your making me feel like going out and buying another car.... I think I just dont really like my car.... I use to drive a big toyota 4 X4 and that was hot with a sticker.. Now I have a Jetta... yuck..

my family is half gay, lol, so yeah, they all know what it is. The world in general, your typical striaght christian bible thumper, probley not. They either dont know, or close their eyes to it because any differences are to much for them to handle. I see lots of them though, but then again, I pay attention.
PS, in the words of the famous Brian Kinney, I say: If Im not fking you, its none of your business!

Like most LGBT people in NYC, I don't even have a car! Besides, everybody who needs to know, does.
