I may be wrong, but not one of the suicidal terrorrists was an Iraqi, an Iranian, Palestinian,Syrian,or Lebanese. Maybe one or two were Egyptians--- like Mohammed Atta?

Because the Bush administration thought it would be an easier target, because they wanted to remove Hussein, who they helped put there in the first place, because he wasn't following orders like they thought he should, because Bush wanted to get Daddy's approval, because he needed to do something spectacular to get the country behind him after his questionable victory in the election, because he thought that at least half of the American public were idiots and would buy any story he gave us, follow any red herring he threw down. Take your pick of any or all of these.

the issue of Iraq is not directly but indirectly connected to terrorism and security; it goes back 5 yrs before we got hit. when the UN ordered security forces to investigate the accuasation of WMD in IRaq, Iraq was cooretive for some of it, but did not allow the inspectors in all places, all times, unfettered. finally, in 1998 or os, they totally kicked out the UN inspectors completely. In 2002 when we got it, it was gain reported that some of the possible suppiles and arms thta were getting into Apfganistan were coming by way of iraq ansd syria, also that Saddam H himself was compiling WMD to be used in second plot against the USA, and would we stand by to take that chance, now that he refused to let ANY UN inspectors in to investigate? Did we have the resources for another blow, should it be true that he WAS making weapons capable of blowing us up? Should we go into a =pre strike= mode and invade before we find out, otherwise? Many politicans on both sides, said no we can not stand by and wait, we have no other option. thats why we went to Iraq;

Bush claimed 9/11 was the start of it; he also said they had weapons of mass destruction, even though after they sent Hans Blitz and a team of researchers, and they didn't find any, Bush decided to proceed anyway.
The reasons are he needed to line his and his administrations' pockets with greenbacks.
