Usually, priests that belong to an order have their expenses paid by the order, with possibly some extra money for personal reasons. I do believe diocesan priests make a salary, though likely pretty meager.
Every parish does have a business manager, but not for the purpose of turning a profit. Rather, they manage the place's basic operation- like paying the heat and light bills.

No not at all....the reason we are so eager to bring people to church and learn the greatness and goodness of the God we serve. Now there are some religions out there that I sometimes think that they get "points" for converting people, so I understand where your coming from. HOWEVER the majority of use are wanting to spread the Word and the Love of Christ to everyone we can.
As far as priest and or pastors they usually recieve gift of the church people an offering or as the catholic do it comes from the higher ups I believe...anyway they get enough that they can live on. Hope that Helps you understand.

Priests & Pastor need to live too, so are on a salary. I have never gone to a church with a Marketing Departemnt, but the really good ones have killer "Out Reach" programs.
As far as being a Business nothing runs with out money, Churches have to pay bills too.

Priests/pastors/etc do get some sort of salary because they devote their lives to the church and their congregation. I have never known a church to have a "marketing" department and it certainly isn't all just business.

Yes preists get paid but very little. For example, Catholic preists get about minimum wage. But,the Catholic Church owns a lot of real estate and most of what the preists need is provided by the Archdiosese.(living quarters, food) Now,there are some religions that are starting to seem like a business where members must give 5%-10% of their salary to the church to maintain their membership.

No. They don't get paid. They try to get you to join the family of God, so you can grow in your faith.

I think so. That would explain all the people eager to convert the nonbelievers.
