You mean why did Sadam kill the thousands of Curds?Number one was they didnt want him to hold the position he had as they knew what a tyrant he is.Second is they didnt believe in his ways and third is they helped the Americans fight against the terrorists in the first gulf war and they paid dearly for it.Yet they continue to help us in this war..,god bless those brave people who have endeared so much suffering at the hands of Saddam and his ilk.Great question.

The principle product in Iraq is oil . Curds know that their lands are the most important place which Iraq can take the oil. They want to gover these lands by themself. Sadam refuse what curds want to do, and he had one way to solive this problem by killing them.

They are called "KURDS"... A "Curd" is a white lump in cottage cheese.

There is some bad blood between the Kurds and the Suni's over ownership of oil wells and religion and land. Saddam wanted to make war casualties out of them because it's the middle east... and he didn't need any more reasons.

It isn't just an ethnic question. The Kurds have always wanted to be an independent nation, which would be carved out of northern Iraq and southern Turkey.

Kurds- He was using them to test his new poison gas weapons. Also he used them to test how Anthrax has an effect on the body. He used women, children and the elderly. Now you see why the Kurds in Iraq are trying to unite with the Kurds in Turkey to make their own independent state.

He didn't just want to kill the curds; he massacred hundreds of thousands of them. He killed them because they wouldn't sit under his thumb and do everything he told them to do. He called it "ethnic cleansing" and a "religious crusade" but the truth is he saw anyone who thought for themselves and wouldn't blindly follow him in everything as a threat.

the kurds in that particular region are nto well liked. the turksin despise them and so do the other surrounding countries. saddam's reasons were many for wanting to kill them but more likely as an attempt to recruit allies for his cause by ridding them of their "universal" enemies.
