You need to have an xray... only way to really see if you have a fracture. I work at an Orthopedic's office, and many patients come in weeks after an injury to find out they had a fracture, and now are in trouble because of the way it is healing. Sports injuries are especially common, and if you are still growing, you need to make sure you dont have an injury to your growth plate. Not a big deal to get an xray... go to the emergency room or call your doctor. Good luck!

The best way to do is to get an x-ray, but the first aid for a sprain, which we are hoping it is, is P.R.I.C.E.: Protect- put a splint, Rest- don't move it around, Ice- apply as soon as possible (be careful not to use for too long; it can damage tissues), Compress- elastics found in drugstores or pharmacies, Elevate- to prevent or limit swelling. On the other hand, if it is much more severe than that like broken, do the same procedure, but make sure to go straight to the doctor to prevent further injuries.

I was abused by my husband 2 weeks ago. Xrays were taken of my right wrist and pinky due to the severe bruising, pain and swelling. Results were negative to any breakage but I still have this incredible burning at movement, needing help to open a soda cap, pill bottle, even using 2 hands to lift a gallon of milk. My pinky is still bruised, the bone feels 'raised' and my wrists keeps 'popping'. I use a self stick ace bandage for support to my finger and BOTH WRISTS. COULD A BREAK BE BENEATH ALL THE SWELLING AND IS NOW SURFACING? DO I NEED TO HAVE XRAYS AGAIN?

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

If you can still move it/use it then it is probably just sprained. You really need to have an x ray tho. They will make sure its not broken. Keep ice on it and try not to use it.

Buy a brace or get your wrist taped while you are playing. You should really see a doctor if your mobility is decreased.
