My wife keeps filling up charge cards we can't afford, because her daughter wants everything new all the time. Every dance new dress, new shoes ect. Every time school starts new backpack, new shoes, new clothes, new everything! How can this be stopped? My wife will not tell her no, and when I say not to she does it anyway?

She does wear a uniform, and no I am not talking about worn out or outgrown items. I am talking about stuff worn once.

um..no dude I feel bad for you I'm a person who is kinda cheap and likes to bargain.I hate stuff that's all designer and crap like that.I go to value village or thrift places and look around I find one of a kind stuff. For school I don't need that much stuff.I but little accessories like pins or patches and bracelets.I always wear the same old worn out converse sneakers.I'm a teenage girl and don't need new stuff all the time.I like new things once in awhile like a couple new T-shirts but yup i like to find bargain buys.Or make some stuff like arm warmers or something accessories.I don't carry around handbags or anything just a messenger cool bag will suit fine. But I do spend some money on make up like M.A.C or something.Or hair product like gel or styling. But tell your daughter to stop being a spoiled brat as for your wife explain to her she has everything she needs.I need to do chores to get my money so I try to be careful how I spend it like if my friends want to go to the movies lll lie and say I'm a child to get a cheaper price.Make your wife teach her about bargain shopping.I feel saisfaction when I get something for a cheap price.Sorry for the spelling this stupid yahoo spell check is not working right now.Well seriously be more strict with your daughter about money and make her bust her @$s for money.I bust my *** just to earn 10 bucks.Be more strcit with her.Best of luck
btw.not all teen girls are like this!

The daughter is being taught that materialistic things are all that matter. You are absolutely right with your concerns. Teenage girls want new stuff all the time because they are teenagers and that is what they think they are measured by, what they have and not who they are. I don't know how to tell you stop it, terminate the credit cards if your name is on the account too. I take it that the daughter is not your daughter, but your wife's??

the reason i get new clothes every school year is i constantly grow out mine, like my pants will be flooding, shirts too small, etc.
maybe you should switch her to a school with a uniform?
when my shcool got a uniform all i needed was my uniform at the beginning of the school year and a new pair of pants midway through.

That's what (some) women do. "I can't wear this dress again, people have seen it."

There is also a lot of competition goes on amongst mothers, to show that their daughter has the best.

Cancel her cards.
