If it's not water based ink then it'll contain xylene, which is why the pen smells the way it does by the way, in the first instance use a non abrasive household cleaner. If that doesn't work, metholated spirit will do the trick but don't just go splashing it on the wall. Put a small amount onto a cloth so it's only slightly damp and then dab the affected area. The pen will come off in no time, though i can't guarantee you wont need to touch up the paint work afterwards.

A) "Goo Gone's Goo-Remover" Has an "Ink Remover". The label says, remove's ink stains from a lot of things, also includes *walls. You can get this just about anywhere, including walmart.

Try alcohol. If that does not work try those new felt markers then wash the wall with soap and water. Tried vinegar....

Use a non-abrasive household cleaner on felt-tips pen marks then clean with a solution of washing-up liquid and rinse off

Try using Baby sterilising fluid such as Milton dabbed on a cloth.

Hairspray - it works honestly. It also works on fabrics.

Spray the area and wipe with a wet cloth.

Easier to paint over it
