I just got a job on a sports radio show. I am very knowledgeable about sports. I just need some input on what people would like to hear.

Any input you have would be great

I think that you need to think about the women who are listening! not girly girl stuff but just remember women listen too. But otherwise make people laugh and dont sound so serious all the time, give the show that creative touch. That depends on wat station it is. GOOD LUCK on the new job!! BEST OF LUCK

I am not a sports girl at all. I play volleyball and tennis, and I like to watch basketball. That's it. I think though that if you really want to get the interest of the masses you are going to have to put some entertainment into the show. Don't just tell the facts make it a show. Add comedy and some real enthusiasm. This is really generic advice, but if there was a really funny radio host where i live, i may decide to tune in and listen. Good luck!!!

As someone that listens to MLB talk on XM radio every morning, I can tell you the one thing I would enjoy hearing more about are all the teams around the league, not just the front runners.

People, especially in markets that have losing teams, would probably love to hear about minor league prospects more often...guys that will be Major League ready in a few years...etc.

There is also not nearly enough talk about college sports, baseball in particular.

Perhaps a segment or two.On how to deal with all the stupidity in sports these days.Things have gone wrong for sports in the last twenty years.Their all a bunch of actors now days. Not actual athletes.A true athlete would never do some of the stunts these guys and gals have been doing on and off the field of their sports. And HEY! I'm not alone in this type of thinking either.I in all honesty have not watched one single sports event in the last eight years do to the type of attitude these so called athletes show me al the time. When is it going to end.So I can watch a real honest to god Baseball game.I really miss the sport big time. But I am never going to watch again.Until it all straightens out for good.

Talk about soccer from Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia. Talk shows about baseball, football, basketball, college sports etc. etc. are a dime a dozen. But nobody talks about soccer, unless you speak Spanish. I think that this is an untapped market in which you could explore some options. Boxing is another much neglected sport on the airways. If you decide to do either tell me where I can catch it and I'll tune in. Good luck.

I would like to hear what is going on in the steroid investigations. Is it possible that if these guys are proved guilty the home run records will be changed back . Obviously stay topical . With the US Open coming up try and get a guest from the tennis world. Football , Hockey and Hoops are all starting up. Who were the big winners in the off season. Good luck.

Do things other radio shows don't...make it interesting...make ur show unique...Have contests where you ask trivia and the first caller with the right answer wins...people that stuff for some reason...have two callers call in and give them a sports topic and they both have to say something related to that topic back n forth...

People love three things in sports talk: 1.) "who's the best" comparisons (e.g Reggie Bush the next Barry Sanders, is LeBron better than Jordan in the long run) 2.) future predicitions like who is going to win divisions, superbowls, starters on Sunday, etc. and 3.) controversy - who was arrested, who said smart things to coach, etc. BUT the key to controversy is NOT to beat it to death (like the Bonds/Steriods thing). Good Luck
