How do i reset the computer to how it was when i first bought it but choose certain folders to keep and be able to reset it and be able to keep the intenet setting as they are. I dont want her to be able to recover any files that have already been deleted either

hi, well if your computer has two local drives, ie c: and d:, first make a back up copy of the files and folders you want to keep then format your c: drive and re-install windows ME for her, it would be better to put everything you want to keep into the d: drive as it wont be affected by the formatting. but then you will have to configure the internet settings again.good luck....

You should have some CD's that came with the PC. Put in the "bootable" CD (usually CD1) and re-install. make sure you make a backup of all the files you want to keep. They may get erased.

Reformat the hard drive, then re-install the OS
