I'm thinking of majoring in Biology or Chemistry to prepare me for medical school. But you can't do much with these degrees. I really want to go to med school, but its a risky move considering only 1 in 2 qualified applycants gets admitted. Is it possible to major in something like Chemical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering and still complete my pre-med studies requirements?

Its good to see that u r quite serious abt ur career. When u take medical as a career its very different where u need to treat patients. But when u take up chemical engg or Biomedical engg they are mostly research oriented. But still if u take Biomedical and side by side take up a medical entrane coaching at Brilliant tutorials, then u might get a slight edge.

You should major in what you like most. If you are planning to go into medicine I suggest Biochemistry. It will help you a lot on your MCAT. It also serves as a safe plan if you don't make it into Med School. Biology and chemistry aren't bad subjects to major in. You can become a teacher, and I'm sure you will find a job somewhere.
