Composition 1 and 2, Biology/Chemistry, Algebra/Calculus/Trigonometry, probably a Speech class- it really depends on the college and the degree/career path you wish to follow. Take your ACT/SAT and set up an appointment with a counselor at your college of choice. They are the ones with the knowledge to lead you in the right direction. You can also log on to the college's website or have them send you a catalog of all the classes which also has the information in there with the degrees and the required curriculum for that degree.

Good luck!

It really depends on where you go , what degree you want, and what classes you took in H.S. But generally there's a basic english comp class and english lit class, history 1 and history 2, College Algebra, biology 1, and usually 1 other science of your choice... Those are the core classes obviously a math or science major would take more advanced courses in those areas than someone majoring in communications for example.

well I'm taking the main classes along with the classes for my major. i take four classes a semester 2 of them are the general required classes and 2 of them are for may major. i don't know if its different depending on what college you go to but the main classes are i think you have to have 1 math class, English comp 1 and 2, a science class, a history class, a few humanities classes and i think there are some others but I'm not sure. you should check with the college you are planning on attending

First thing you need to do is talk to you school adviser. He/she should be able to give you a list of classes that you need to take for you major. If you are undeclared then the advicer should still be able to help you. But to answer your question most schools require history, government, a college level math, 2 writing (composition classes), some form of science. It is basically the subjects you took in high-school. But again you should call and set up an appt. with your academic adviser

Well, it all depends on what your college requires. the University of Wisconsin system requires courses such as: biology, earth science, chemistry, statistics, psychology, sociology, political science, history, economics, philosophy/ logic, english lit, creative writing, etc. Those are some of the courses I took. We were also required to take a course that the university specialized in. What the school was known for. That was health/ physical education/ recreation. I ended up liking political science so much I made it my major. And I was a history minor. Very interesting subjects. Glad I graduated in those subjects. Also, be sure to take statistics. Very interesting course. I almost made it my minor.

Depends on what degree you want to take. But for sure you'll have to do English 101 and up. Math of course is required but it depends on what major you're pursuing as to which classes and how many you'll need to take. So you're best bet is to audit whichever program you're interested in taking and finding out which classes are required for that path. Better yet, if you're still not decided on what it is exactly that you want to be, (don't worry most people don't know right off the bat what they want) go talk to a counselor and ask them what classes are required by whichever institution it is you're attending.

There are general education requirements that need to be taken no matter what degree you choose to pursue. These, I am sure, vary from college to college, but are intended to give you a little taste in a variety of subjects, such as the arts, literature, some math, a number of credits in science, languages, computer, etc.

My college also required a year long colloquium class, which touched on all of the basics such as reading, writing, speaking, research skills, etc.

Hope that helps :)

It varies by college, but the basics are usually the same.

2-3 semesters each of math, history, English, some type of science, and some humanity like art or music history. Also probably a basic psychology or sociology course, a basic computer course, and some specific US or Western history course. You may also have a requirement for a foreign language, depending on your degree.

You'll need to get a copy of your college's catalog. In it they will detail the classes required for general education and for any major you may be interested in. Many of the general education classes will be similar to those you took in high school, only more advanced, detailed and probably require more writing on your part. Most colleges also require a particular math level to be completed in order to graduate, but they do offer remedial classes to those who need them.
