when i was a kid we had the stairs from hell. they were next to the landlord's bedroom. my father used baking soda and baby power on the cracks and the squeeks stopped. he said the baby power did the best job. try it. wht not?

They make a screw kind of think called Squeek Ender or Squeek Mender something like that... but you should have someone with some experience fix it or you could chance messing up the floor. It is fixable though... if you have a friend in the construction field ask them if they know someone that would do a good job.

There is a really long and technical explanation as to why you have squeaky floors and if you want the entire thing e-mail me and I will give it to you. The bottom line now that your floors are in, is NO you cant stop them from squeaking. If you want... you can pre-drill and countersink screws everywhere that there are squeaks, and then dowel sand and stain. But you will never match the existing stain. This is why getting proper install from licensed installers is soooo crucial.

do not put carpet down I just built a house and put hard wood flooring down and the best way to get rid of the squeaks is to try to get hold of an air conpressure and a brad nail gun the brad nail is so small that the hole is hard to spot if you are not the one pulling the trigger. This is the best way that I found to get rid of the noises.

squeak is from either a nail is not holding and is moving with ur body weight on and then off it or the wood is moving and rubbing against another piece......u will have to either cut out and remove the piece and glue and renail or drill and face nail and fill with putty..either one would require the right tools and experience......rated between 1-10 this is a 7 in hard to do!
