I am wandering the order to pick postions, players etc. I am new to Fantasy NFL and I just need a few pointers from some experts out there. Is a running back for your first pick a good idea? Quarterback? Certain player?

Honestly, a lot depends on your leagues scoring system. If it is weighted so QB's don't get as many points per TD's or per Yardage, then a QB is definatley not worth a first or second round pick, even if his initials are P.M.

In most leagues, you can't go wrong with running backs as your first pick, and also as your second or third. I also try to look for a solid (but not necesarrily stud) reciever in that area. You can probably get a guy like Tory Holt, Marvin Harrison, or Chad Johnson in the 2nd or 3rd..

But, if qb's get 6 points per TD, and say 1 point every 30-40 yards, then that fouls everything up.

Basically, look at your leagues scoring. That will let you know how to stack your draft.

don't listen to anyone telling you to take a QB with the first pick; it is a perfect strategy for failure.

You need to get 2 RB within your first 3 picks. Depending on where you draft and how many teams are in the league. Most years I'd say go RB-RB-WR, but this year, the way the talent is distributed, it may be best to go RB-WR-RB.

If you pick at the end of the first round, it may be ok to go for Manning; but I say let someone else do that. You can still get quality QB's - in rounds 5-7 - there won't be any RB's left by then.

The best bet is to get the best RB available with your first and probably your 2nd pick unless P. Manning is there. This year the depth at RB after the first three gets lumped in to a pile and you can pick one out and they are almsot all the same....Tiki, Portis, Caddi, Ron Brown, Steve Jackson, Edge, LaMont Jordan, Rudi Johnson. Who will be the best out of that group?? No one knows its kind of a crap shoot so the best bet is try and get 2 and increase your odds of success. If you can get 2 top 10 backs in a 10-12 team league your are off to a good start!!

If you are able to get 2 RBS early you then just take the best available WR, QB etc as they come!

It all depends on your leagues scoring. In my league, it is QB oriented. In others it is RB oriented. We give points for each completion a QB makes and bonuses for 300yrd passing games so a QB could possibly get 100 points in one game especially a Payton Manning or a Carson Palmer. So it all depends on your scoring and also what draft pick you have.

Get a kicker or a Defense. They go really fast. If you have the first pick, take Reggie Bush
