Yes, you should be careful.
Use condoms +spermicide until you have been taking the pill for a week after you get off antibiotics.
It takes a whole week without any interferences for the pill to be efficient.

Always use backup method while on the antibiotics and for a week after. Just to be safe. And, since you are starting your month of new pills on the antibiotic, you may make the whole month ineffective - ask a pharmacist.

Good luck! And it's great your bf is good about using the condoms too...he must really love you.

Hope your mouth is doing well! Take care.

If you're using condoms then you shouldn't have any worries. I wouldn't have any unprotected sex though unless you check with your doctor or pharmacist. They would be able to tell you which antibiotics lessen the effects of birth control pills. Good luck and good for you for being safe with the condoms. Very responsible.

Antibiotics will have an adverse effect on your birth control. I know a couple women that got pregnant that way. Stick with the condoms until you are done taking the medicine.

Antibiotics do decrease the effectiveness of the pill, as you clearly know. But they don't have any effect on condoms so if you're using them regularly anyway, you have little to worry about. When used properly condoms are very nearly as effective as the pill.

Taking antibiotics may interfere with the effectiveness of your birth control. If I were you I would wait until your done with your antibiotic to have sex, just to be on the safe side.

They do lessen the effect of the pill sometimes. Check with your doctor because he/she would know about the specific type you're taking. Good for you for using the condoms as well.
