I remember I was in the 2nd grade when that happened. I just got home. My parents were painting the living room. I decided to help them. We were listening to the radio. The announcer said Elvis had died. The room was quite, then I heard my dad start crying. He was my dad's favorite singer. It had no effect on me.

It was the summer between 7th & 8th grade, and I was at my friend, Suzanne's house watching tv. I called my mom at her office, and another secretary's kid had already called, so their whole office already knew and everyone was in shock.
I got to see Elvis perform live when I was ten, and glad I did.
