Well - I took ibuprofen, and my doc said that it was ok... As long as it's not in the last trimester. I'm not quite sure what everybody is freaking out about. (yes, consult your doctor, blah blah - man, if you're pregnant, it's like you can't even go pee without a Dr's permission, huh? It's ridiculous)
More serious is the question of WHY you're having so many headaches. IF I were you, I would do some research on alternative pain relief options, like oil of oregano and what the underlying cause of your headaches are. Are you getting enough iron? Have you stopped drinking coffee and you're getting withdrawal headaches (I drank coffee while I was preggo too, bad me LOL But only a cup or two a day, and usually half caff). Soemtimes headaches can be caused by the extra fluid that's in your body when you're pregnant, and it can put pressure on your teeth - soaking your feet in cool water can actually help with the swelling throughout your body.
Do talk to your doctor - but sheesh, people, stop trying to terrify this woman!

I was told never to take ibuprofen, that was during my first trimester. In fact in the third trimester the baby is almost devolped and has a lot higher tolerance to things where as in the first and second trimester all thier vital organs like their brain and lungs are being devolped so everything you ingest will take an affect on the baby. You need to avoid all things that give you headaches like coffee (which you should be anyway), stress, lack of sleep, smoking, loud noises ect. Try to eat more veggies this will help the headache from starting instead of trying to get rid of one you already have. Good Luck!

Never take ibuprofen during pregnancy is what my OB has told me. Especially in the first 2 trimesters because that is when the baby does the most developement and has the greatest chance of being affected by it. Try getting a massage for headaches...or do like most of us do that can't take anything due to allergies, grin and bear it :) It's best to be safe and have a healthy child. In the grand sceme of things, a few months of headaches is such a small price to pay for a healthy baby.

I would not recommend it, but hey, I'm also not a doctor. You took too much Tylenol and now you have built up a tolerance to it. If you can take it, let the pain subside on its own. Or use the new product called HeadOn, that you rub on the outside to make the pain subside. This works, trust me. If you stay off the Tylenol for a while, it will start working for you again with time. Also, call the doctor and ask what you CAN take so you don't hurt the baby. Congratulations on your pregnancy, good luck, and God bless.

Ibuprofen is OK to take after you give birth and when you are breastfeeding, but there are no painkillers that are completely safe to take during pregnancy except low-dose aspirin for the first six weeks to prevent miscarriage.
I am sorry to have to tell you this, but headaches and other little pains are just something you have to live with when you're pregnant. Try to drink enough water, get enough rest, eat as healthfully as possible and reduce your stress level. The prize is worth it in the end.

What is the most important information I should know about ibuprofen?
Ibuprofen can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
Ibuprofen may also cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal. These conditions can occur without warning while you are using ibuprofen, especially in older adults.

No, don't take ibuprofen. There are lots of other natural remedies to help with headaches. One of my favorites is to rub lavender on my temples. You can also take homeopathic remedies for headaches. If I got a headache stemming from my neck or shoulder muscles, I would take arnica montana 30X. If the headache was a regular headache just in my head, I would take natrum mur. 6X. Another good option is chiropractic adjustments. I don't suffer from migraines so no personal experience with those.

ONE ibuprofen during pregnancy will not do horrible damage, I'd take it if your head hurts so bad you can't function. I have taken one ibuprofen during early pregnancy, and it was fine. I would not take it on a daily or even weekly basis. If you are having headaches that often, you need to see your doctor about it.
Some natural ways to treat/prevent headaches:
Drink plenty of clean water! Being even slightly dehydrated can cause headaches. Coffee, sodas, sugary drinks/juices and caffeinated drinks all dehydrate you. If you don't like plain water, try adding a bit of lemon juice, or mint herb tea. You and your baby NEED water.
See a chiropractor. Often a headache is caused by your neck being out of alignment. I have gone to the chiro with a headache so bad I could barely drive myself there, and after my neck was adjusted I felt fine one hour later!
Use a cold pack or heating pad. If your headache is caused by stiff neck/shoulder muscles, a heating pad will help.
Try lying down in a dark room for a few minutes. This often helps with headaches.
I hope you feel better soon.

NEVER EVER EVER take Ibuprofen for any ache....only Tylenol in the smallest dose. Ibuprofen in ANY dose is fatal to the baby even if you are in the first trimester! Even though you have taken it before, now that you are pregnant, your hormones are crazy so you may come down with an allergic reaction.
Read the book "What to expect when you are expecting"
Page 455 pargraph 5....it has all your answers!
DONT TAKE IBUPROFEN!!!!
Good luck with your baby!
